RIP June Cleaver. She was great in Leave It to Beaver, and I loved her cameo translating jive in Airplane. I may have to watch that tonight or tomorrow in her memory.

Farewell, June.

In a tribute to June, many years ago, the adult kids were out working in the parent's yard. Mom appeared at the back door in a long dress and wearing pearls with a tray of lemonade. We called her June for quite a while after that.

You probably had to be a guy... with an older brother...sharing a bedroom...in the late 50s/early 60s...with friends named Whitey and Eddie. :twitch:

I wonder if those names (Whitey and Eddie) came from the Yankee pitching great from that era, Whitey Ford, whose real first name was Edward, and whose son's name was Eddie. While I never met Whitey, I did go to baseball camp with Eddie for a summer (1969).

I wasn't around until the Leave it to Beaver reruns, but I had classmates EXACTLY like Eddie Haskell, and the little guy I had my first crush on looked and acted a lot like the Beav.
