Duke friend is in town so she and two of us in town are going out to lunch at an Indian buffet. Then a potluck with some church friends in the evening -- Good Eats = Good holiday

We're going to sit around the Labor Day tree, exchange Labor Day gifts, sing a few Labor Day carols and then have a Labor Day dinner.

Quality time with the
. Cutting the grass in the backyard. Buying rechargeable batteries. Possibly going to REI to buy more stuff I don't need. Grilling tilapia for supper.

Josh and Adam just tried to surf but the waves are not cooperating. The day is too calm for them so they're headed back to Wilmington in a bit. Stevo and are looking forward to our first date night in a long time. He did the cookout thing last night with ribs smothered in his own Carribean-inspired sauce, spicy black beans and corn and Sylvie's African rice dish leftover from Brunchgate. Ymmmmmmmm

That reminds me: please tell Sylvie how de-luscious her rice dish was! YUM!

We do it all again at Columbus Day--except we sit around the Columbus Day tree, exchange Columbus Day gifts, sing a few Columbus Carols, and then eat a Columbus Day dinner.

I washed my car, now I have to go shopping for some cat food. Should I go looking for some clothes myself? I've got some gift cards that I need to use. Oh and a Groupon coupon.

Back home. Panera Bread for lunch. Half salad, half sandwich, tea (half sweet, half unsweet). Target for rechargeable AA batteries and a charger. Now to mow.
Tonight we'll hang union labels on the Labor Day tree.

I'm taking the day off. Seasonal allergies have me slowed down a bit. Mowing, weeding and pruning temporarily postponed.

Played golf (82 today). Came home to check out the broken Weber Kettle, which I haven't done yet, and then going back to the club for an "end of season pool party", which includes food and adult beverages! Sounds much like a Brunchgate, except there's a pool and no football game to go to.
