Okay, be honest.
Growing up, which did you know about (could identify, define) first?
The PIMENTO? Or PIMENTO CHEESE?

When I was a kid I never knew there was such a thing as a pimento. I thought that was the name of the cheese...like Munster.

Being a fan of olives
and Pimento cheese I learned about them both as a young child. Not sure which one came into my life first but, I think it was pimentos stuffed in olives in my Mom's martini.

Good mom. She knew how to keep her kids quiet.

I have never had pimiento cheese.
I was introduce to pimientos via the olives that I would put in my grandfather's martinis, which I was taught to make at 7 or 8 years old. I was probably eating the gin-soaked olives starting around 2 or 3.

I bet your grandfather loved you!
I was reading "Shit My Dad Says," and in it, kid talks about his granddad getting caught drinking booze one night. Knowing he was busted, and already half lit, the grandfather separated himself from his initial guilty stare and burst out laughing, saying, "You got me!" He then kept drinking. LOL!

Depends on if you are Spanish (pimiento) or Portuguese (pimento or pimentão) in origin.
