Drowning by Wendy's Iced Tea?

Sort of a serious question here for all of you in the medical know.

I just took a huge gulp of iced tea and almost all of it went down the 'ol windpipe. I've never quite done that before. Besides experiencing an embarrassing involuntary reaction that sounded like something from the base of Hell, I also saw "stars" like I was about to faint. I'm still coughing up tea. Could this be bad? Seriously?

There is such a thing as what you're describing. I think it's called "dry drowning." (Mom was watching Oprah one time, don't ask me how I remember these things -- I just do.)

Drowning in sweet tea wouldn't be a bad way to go. . .

I'd prefer Bojangles Sweet Tea...I particularly like when they dump the 5 lb bag of sugar into the Silver Bullet.

There is this nurse I work with who, when I once experienced the same thing (oddly enough.... Bojangles Tea went down the wrong way!) she suggested to give a few good coughs and then.... take a few more drinks of the tea (seriously she;a medical professional, suggested this). I looked at her like she was nuts, but then gave it a god. I'll be a sunnuvagun, it friggin worked.
