Wow, no matter who you pull for, you gotta hand it to the Phillies and Braves. They are "ballin'."

No team seems to want to lose. Since the Phillies are the "chasers" and are more sexy on paper (i.e., the "favorite"), they are the focus of the poll.

I'm offering my own over/under on games lost for the rest of the season. There are about 39 games left to play. Of these 39 (I could be off by one or two), how many more will the PHILLIES lose?

1) Morre than eight?
2) Less than eight?

Going with the odds here. I can't see them playing .800 BB the rest of the season and finishing the year 32-8 or thereabouts.

Even the Yankees will lose more than 8 games during the rest of the regular season. Not many more, and fewer than Tampa Bay!

DD, I totaly understand where you are coming from and your logic makes total sense. That said, I think the close race is putting an un-fugging-believable sense of urgency on both teams.

My prediction? Two of the greatest records in September ever and the Division champ and Wildcard BOTH coming out of the same division.

I say Phillies lose seven more games (at most) all year. They are THAT good. The Braves are tough, and that can pay dividends in the playoffs, but really, how often can they come from down two, three runs to make a miracle comback?

Phillies win division by three games, Braves get wildcard, the rest is up for grabs.
