Resigning via Dry Erase

This is tearing around the web today...I have not vetted it - but I do so want it to be true....

http://thechive.com/2010/08/10/girl-qui ... 33-photos/

If it is true, this kid is my hero...oh I wish I had the chutzpah to have done something like once or twice in my career

If it isn't true, I will have to settle for telling everyone to fuck off, grabbing a beer and using the escape slide

They've been talking all day on the radio about the flight attendant that cussed everybody out, took some beers, popped the emergency door, and slid down the slide to quit.

I'd love to have confirmation of the Dry Erase Resignation.

I'm also wondering whether the passenger who stood up while the plane was taxiing to the gate, knocked the flight attendant on the head with the suitcase, and uttered profanities at him will be charged in federal court. Also, how long until the flight attendant makes his appearance on Letterman?

If I may skew this just a tad and offer a slightly different angle.

This entire situation demonstrates QUITE CLEARLY one of the great differences between men and women.

The girl is attractive, so clearly the boss meant what he said when he called her "One Hot Piece of Ass" or whatever it was he called her. It was something like that.

Okay, only a woman would complain here (and I'm certainly NOT saying she's wrong for doing so). But do you think in a million years a guy would get all offended and complain and so forth if he overheard his female boss saying, "He is one HOT piece of ass!"

No way man. NO WAY.

On a related note, it may not be PC to say, but I've always maintained belief in the following formula:

X = Number of reports filed with human resources
Y = how good looking the person that made the offending remark is

The >Y, the <X.

Or put another way, to a lot of people (not all), "Good looking men flirt. Ugly men sexually harass."

A lot of it has to do with the personality of the guy, too. I'm far from the best looking guy on the planet. My wife USED to say I looked like Matt Damon. Now I look like Matt Damon if he put on 150 lbs. However, I'm one of those guys who likes to talk to women. However, I never cross that line. I always keep it light and respectful. You'll NEVER hear me call a woman a HOPA or whatever. Women ALWAYS respond to it with me. I think it's because I'm a nice guy. Jerks come off creepy and harassing because they fail to treat the woman with respect when they try to "flirt". Personal hygiene is important too. Don't forget the bad breath comment.

Posted at a site called "TheChive" is probably the tip-off to authenticity.

I was just relieved that that last board didn't say "porn" instead of "farmville".

I am struggling not to go thermonuclear. As a woman who has spent her career in the guy dominated IT world that is total and complete bullshit. Disrespect is disrespect and I don’t give a rat fuck who is doing it. If guys don’t get offend by comments like that I would think it is because 1) they are accustomed to being treated with respect and perhaps it doesn’t occur to them how demeaning and utterly inappropriate shit like that is and 2) they are not judged on their physical appreance the same way women are. They don’t get treated like the coffee fetcher and de facto secretary on a daily basis. The idea that looks impact the line between flirting and harassment is a cosmic load of crap. Looks don’t have jack shit to do with it in the workplace. Every female employee is not looking for a hook up. We want to do our job, get paid the same as you guys do and NOT have anyone make cracks about our physical appearance.

Gag. Joke. Wretch.

Sounds like a severe personal problem to me. Oversensitivity is a serious problem in our world - at all levels.

I think we're gonna shut this down now. It's getting a little uncivil around here, and it was all based on a hoax anyway, so we don't see any reason to let it continue.

Nothing to see here, folks, please move along. :Police:

Speaking of Goofy, is he like the least favorite Disney character of all time? He hardly ever gets press these days.
