This is my preview of Alabama, which took a while to do. I will be previewing all of Duke's 12 opponents leading up to the Elon game. I have already done Elon, Wake Forest and now Alabama. This is the link to the page where the preview is posted:

Check in on Wednesday for my preview of Duke's fourth opponent, Army.

I'm thinking more like 49-7.

Mark Ingram had knee surgery and is out for Alabama's opening game. He is questionable for week two against Penn State and who knows after that:

I hope he plays for the Duke game. I'm not a masochist, but I'm looking forward to seeing Alabama be the team that actually makes them #1. In all honesty, that's a rarety..I've never seen a #1 team in person. Same reason that folks will show up to watch Duke trounce their team in basketball..they want to see the chance at an amazing upset, but they also want to see the best do what they do.

Tonight's news indicated that he's expected to play the Duke game.

We should all know that Alabama's back up running back might be the second best running back in the country behind Ingram. Trent Richardson is an unbelievable running back with amazing speed. He is expected to split carries this year with Ingram. So even if Ingram doesn't play the Duke game, they will be perfectly set with Richardson. Either way Duke's defense is going to shut them down and dominate for 60 minutes. So it really doesn't matter... :D B-)

I've watch an hour long special about Alabama's pre-season camp twice. One of the most impressive techniques is used to minimize fatigue, especially after two a days. It's called the cold water tub. A very large tub is filled with cold water. Once the first couple of players (fully clothed except for shoes) sit down in it, a large amount of ice is added. The idea is to drop the body temperature quickly to reduce the level of fatigue.

Hey, Ozzie, was Pitt #1 in the nation when they played at WW circa 1972 when Dorsett was there? Coulda been as late as 1976.

Or the idea is to shrink the size of their manhood to the size of pebbles.

The game was Oct 2, 1976 as it was the last Duke game I attended before joining the Navy in December. Pitt was #2:

I was at that game. We did a good job on Dorsett for the first half. Then it fell apart and he got his yards, as I recall.

Thanks, Bob. I knew there would be someone with far better data mining skills than I have.
