Question about the book of love...

I really like Peter Gabriel's rendition of "the Book of Love" from Shall We Dance, but iTunes makes you buy the whole album, and I'm really not interested in the rest, especially for $11.99, more than a normal album on there. Does anybody know of another place you can buy just that song?

Thanks.

It's funny, there are just some songs that hit me in a funny place, like Hallelujah, and Loreena McKinnett's Highwayman, or the Ecstasy of Gold from the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Some of the songs from Braveheart and Gladiator and Last of the Mohicans have similar effect on me for some reason.

Seriously, that's what I thought of when I saw the thread title.

According to iTunes and another source on the net, the first version was by Magnetic Fields, but when I listened to that version on iTunes I didn't like it quite as well as the Peter Gabriel version.

Oh, you're making fun of me with the monotones' song "who wrote the book of love". I thought you were trying to help me find it. I'm an idiot. :-w

It is widely available - for free. Why buy it?

Um, (A) where do I get it for free? and (B) I didn't know you could get music free legally anymore. So, is it legal, and if it is, where the heck do I get it! :)

You can get the album from Amazon MP3 store for $9.49... and no, free usually <> legal.

If you have the Zune pass (yea, not likely), it's also available for download.

Thanks for mentioning this song, though - I love it, but didn't know what it was called.

Sorry, I'm kind of illiterate when if comes to this stuff. If I buy it there, can I put it on iTunes/iPod. How?

Thanks.

You might try buying the physical album used. Since it's a soundtrack, it might be difficult to find at a record store, but a quick Amazon search brought it up almost 50 times for as low as $7.

Exactly...because I wish they would rewrite parts of it.
