Anyone notice a theme with my choices?

:obscene-birdiered:

Hockey is the only pro sport that truly matters. The NFL is fixed and is a joke (I will watch a CFL game in reruns before I will willingly watch an NFL game). The NBA is boring as shit (have none of them ever heard of defense)? And baseball is such a snoozefest that it cannot be deemed a sport, professional or otherwise.

I can agree that the NBA is not only boring, but quite fixed. I do NOT think the NFL is fixed and I believe the NFL actually has the best product right now. Baseball is not boring to me at all, but I can certainly see where some see it that way. I was joking about Hockey not being a pro sport. As silly of a concept as hockey may be, it is a sport enjoyed by many. I respect that.

Yeah I'm just busting balls too. But seriously, the NFL is fixed. Have you watched any Super Bowls recently? Even my NFL worshipping roommates routinely freak out and proclaim that the fix was so obviously in that they would never watch another NFL game (happens every couple of weeks). And who was the coach a couple of years ago who, after the Super Bowl, claimed that if the NFL had already decided who it wanted to win it might as well tell the other team and they wouldn't have bothered wasting the effort showing up since there was no point.

Seriously, I am not teasing and joking around as I originally was but I hold to the claim that the NFL is fixed.

How can you have TWO tennis players on the list?

MICKEL-NUTS?

How about Tom Watson?

Because I made the poll. Don't like it? Make your OWN poll. (totally being light-hearted here by the way)! :happy-bouncyblue: :D

Federer is a good call. That's why I listed "other" as an option. I knew I'd miss out on some obvious choices. I love Federer. Also, I TOTALLY whiffed on listing Barry Bonds in the "Asshole" poll.

Jim Joyce. You didn't say the best "Good Guy" had to be a pro athlete.

Tough choice for me between Grant Hill and Cal Ripken Jr. I had a Cal poster on my wall growing up. But in the end my Blue showed through.

Btw Colchar: if the NFL were truly fixed Brett Fav-ruh would have won it all last year so he could go out in a blaze of glory but he threw that interception against my Saints.

When Fav-ruh (haha- my iTouch defaults to "Fav-duh") comes back and if the powers that be give the Lombardi trophy to him, I will rethink my position.

Well, it DOES say "Pro Sports History."

Jimmie Johnson should qualify, except for what he did to Kurt Busch last week.

I think the NBA sucks. I'm quickly losing interest in baseball. Hockey is great, but have to agree with colchar the American tv viewing experience is lame so I give most of my energy to the Charlotte Checkers.

But I have to laugh at the idea that the NFL is fixed. There are just way too many variables to control.

Oh yeah, I went with Cal Ripken, Jr.
