Sean and I played in a couple of bands together in high school, right after he left Hamilton Fish. Sean was also the catalyst for me moving back to North Carolina. Each year, my company would attend a trade show in Chicago called GraphExpo. Sean and family were living there and I would always make time to see them. On my last trip to Chicago almost three years ago, Sean told me that he was moving back to North Carolina. I had always promised that I would move back when he did and the timing couldn't have been more perfect as I had grown quite ill of California and wanted to be closer to my Mom and Dad.

Sean is a great example of a DIY guy. He ran his own record label to promote and produce the local high school bands, skipped college to do the band thing, and worked his way from the bottom (at the same newspaper where I got my start after dropping out of college) to where he is now.

I think it's pretty cool.
