There could be a couple of reasons why DukeUsel found this article. One, he's looking for baby names, or two, he's looking for another scotch to try.
Or three, something else.

I think it's nice to name your baby after your favorite hobby. We named our baby after our favorite Duke Basketball player.
I don't know that I would name my baby after my favorite alcoholic beverage, though.

It IS possible to do all three at the same time. Favorite hobby, Duke player, indirect reference to alcoholic beverages. His name?CathyCA wrote:I think it's nice to name your baby after your favorite hobby. We named our baby after our favorite Duke Basketball player.

It sounds like a young boy that is going to learn to fight - kinda like naming him Sue.DukeUsul wrote:LOL, actually, MrsUsul found it and sent it to me. ;-) She obsesses over these things even when there isn't a bun in the oven.TillyGalore wrote:There could be a couple of reasons why DukeUsel found this article. We took names, that were no no way related to either sides of the family, put them in a hat and drew out the winning two.

I the next grandbaby is a boy, maybe I'll nickname him Bud ... No, there isn't one in the oven. They've been told to wait for a variety of (hopefully minor) reasons.

Wow, talk about going back into the Toronto Star's (or, as I like to call it, Pravda) vaults!
My favourite rye is Gibson's Sterling. Until recently, my favourite guitars were made by another company called Gibson (they still retain a place in my heart but I've become a Fender convert). So maybe Gibson would be a good choice for me. Then again, I doubt it would go with my last name.

How about, "Grain Alcohol?" I think that would make a perfect name for a child.fordgrl00 wrote:

Yea, I don't think Old Boardhead/Bawdy/Knucklehead would work for many baby names. Cereal Killer might not be such a good choice either.CathyCA wrote:I think it's nice to name your baby after your favorite hobby. We named our baby after our favorite Duke Basketball player.

(drum roll, please)
Bud Light Templeton.
I doubt daughterofOzzie, SIL or Mrs. Ozzie would cast many votes for that moniker however.
