I'm no fan of Dean Smith, but it is sad.

Last fall, a huge tarhole fan (who didn't know my team preferences) told me he went to the anniversary thing and Dean Smith was in awful shape. He didn't look like he knew what was going on and he had to be led by the arm everywhere. He wanted to know if I'd heard anything about his condition or prognosis. As far as I could tell, most of the UNC people were pretending nothing was wrong. All the fans I knew of that ugly blue seemed to think that there was absolutely nothing wrong with him, and that any statements to the contrary were part of some evil Duke conspiracy (or Wolfpack conspiracy, or Deac consipracy).

Typical. B-)
I don't wish this on anyone. :YMPRAY:

What, his apparent Alzheimer's or being a unc fan? Or both?

Well...either. If I were a tarhole, (Oh dear God) there'd be a Hell of a lot I'd like to forget.
I wonder how forgetful Butch Davis is? :-?

While you won't ever hear me extolling Dean, it is sad for him and his family.

Would it be too early to joke that the four corners offense was created because he couldn't remember which basket was theirs?

From my point of view, it will never be an appropriate time. I watched my grandfather wither away to Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.

Leave the classless jokes to Maryland fans.
