Gas price war!

We had a new Murphy Express gas station open on Wednesday. Their business philosophy is to have the lowest price around. Yesterday, they were $2.51. At lunch today, they were $2.43. I got gas at 5:00 pm at $2.39. This is the price a few minutes ago at 9:10 pm.

The Hess station up the street is also at $2.35, which means that next hour (they (Murphy) survey hourly) it'll be lower! The BP is at $2.39. Tomorrow we may be down under $2.00! Gotta love it!

Holy shit. I wish we had gas stations like that, we are solidly at about 2.65 here, have been for a while. I wish we had a Sheetz or something similar (I'm assuming Murphy is similar)..they drop the price to stupid just so you walk in the door and buy stuff besides gas.

How much is their premium? Is it worth my time (and mileage) to drive over there to fill up?

Don't know - didn't pay attention to it. I'll look later and let you know. The regular unleaded price was $2.29 about an hour ago.

Drive by enough and your tank will be empty and you'll need that $2.00 fill-up before you know it ;) :D .

The price is now $2.21. It dropped 7 cents/gallon while we were at dinner!

Cathy, premium is $2.49/gallon.

Are you sure that's not a Wal-Mart with its falling prices campaign? /:) :twitch:

Hmm. . . I wonder if I can swing by there on my way back from the beach.

I wish they'd open a store in Greenville.

$2.18 this morning at Murphy. :D The BP seems to have given up as it's still at $2.32. I didn't check the Hess 1/4 mile down the road, but I'll bet it's at $2.19.

That's why my wife will be filling up near Ozzie's on the way back on Tuesday. She'll fill her tank, I'll fill my tank and then we'll both fill our stomachs with pizza/and or cheese steaks from Sami's =p~ .

Bad news for you. Sami's is closed on Tuesdays :( :( :(

Just came back from golf, and the Hess and Murphy are both $2.16, so Murphy will drop again next hour! And for Cathy, premium is $2.44 at the Hess, didn't look at Murphy. And the BP is still at $2.32, so they have dropped out of the race to $1.99.

As for the race up, that's the rest of the time when there's a hiccup in the supply chain ...

Has the water situation been settled yet? :twitch:
Would any of these places be shut down because of it?

Angelo's will be open on Tuesday. The water problem was solved late Thursday night and all restaurants were open on Friday :D

And Angelo's is right across the street from Murphy gas!
