As you may recall from LTE, my uncle was recently diagnosed with olfactory neuroblastoma, a very rare type of cancer. He's having surgery tomorrow at Mayo Clinic. The procedure will be quite involved; apparently the tumor has eaten through the bone separating his nose and his brain. They will be doing a graft to replace the bone. Please send vibes for my uncle, the family, and the doctors performing the surgery. Tomorrow will be a long, anxious day for all of us.

Thanks for the vibes, all! My cousin and aunt have created a webpage at Mayo so that family and friends can check on surgical progress. I've been visiting quite often. Surgery started around 9:00 a.m. and is expected to take 8+ hours. Last update at 1:00 said that the neurosurgeon was finished (bone graft in place) and the ENT was taking over. Please keep the vibes and prayers coming!

Thanks, all! Surgery went well, and all of the tumor was removed (well-defined margins, which is a good thing). He'll be in the hospital for another 5-7 days. The power of vibes at work again!
