I am very tired, but not sleepy. Does that even make sense? For Yahweh's sake, I can't sleep. I tried a couple of hours ago but just tossed and turned. So, out of frustration, now I am up again.
I would plug my guitar into my amp and go to town, but I have roommates. Golly Dang It!

This being able to sleep thing reminds me of the TV ad from the '70's or '80's, anticipation is making me wait.

I've been up since 3 am. Catching up on my videos a la HULU and Fancast was a good start in dealing with the time passing. A-Team favorites mixed with a few more current shows, and having a few munchies to go with it... yep, thats a nice way to pass the time! It ain't gee tar pickin by no means, but we deal with things with what we got! lol

Kelly and I have been running my laptop all night playing
Simply Noise mixed with some thunderstorm tracks in iTunes. We use Brown Noise that oscillates up to 30%. I love it.

It used to be that when I couldn't sleep, I could read, and I would fall asleep. No more.
Now, when I can't sleep, I make lists of things I need to do. Once I see those things written down on paper, it makes it easier for me to prioritize and make a plan to achieve those things.
Or, I unpack a box. Or, organize a closet or drawer. Or, do laundry. That's what I'm doing now.

We have something called Ambiance from iTunes that has a variety of noise styles that are very relaxing. Bruce's favorite is rain on a tin roof.
You might also try Duke Student Health meditation and relaxation podcasts. If you search for "Duke Student Health" on the iTunes store you'll find them easily. Those bad boys put me out quickly.
