There's a moral here someplace

Yesterday. Oh, yesterday. :sigh: . I was having a pretty rough one. Sad news from old friends, grueling family schedules , things around the house breaking down, the old professor down in the back, big unexpected bills, etc, etc, etc. I was having trouble staying positive. So.....I decided to spare myself the emotion of the LAX game. I taped it and decided to watch only if we won, since a loss might just put me over the top.

I busied myself with my many Saturday jobs and heard sporadic reports from the OP that we weren't doing well at all so I was glad I wasn't glued to the boob tube. Then, at the end of the day I checked in here just in time to read Very Duke Blue's erroneous entry that we had lost. Sad as I was, I still was glad I had not invested all that angst and at the same time had accomplished something with the time spent.

THEN, the OP came in and said "Turn on your tape and watch the last of the game." I declined, asking why I should put myself through it. He kept insisting, so finally, just to appease him I turned it on and fast forwarded to the fourth quarter. Sat there, unhappier and unhappier by the minute. He said, "Just keep watching." I sighed, but complied..........all...the...way....until...the...tape...ran....OUT. Yep, before the exciting end.

I had set it to keep recording for a half hour after the show, but evidently that wasn't enough. I hope someday I get to see Quinzani score that spectacular goal with only 12 seconds left on the clock...... but, I know I don't deserve it.

Rest assured that the dang thing is set for Monday 3:30 and is extended TWO HOURS longer this time. But, it won't be necessary because I'll be focused on every face off, ground ball, save and score!

LET'S Go DUKE! THIS IS THE YEAR!
Love, Ima

I hope your day is much better today. When I read the stats, I thought the game was over. I am very happy I was wrong. :) I am sorry I made your day, at that point, worse. :ymhug: GO DUKE!!

It's like the story of my life.
I don't like a bunch of coins rattling in my pocket and when buying something, I always check for correct change each time. Trouble is, and it seems to never fail, if I need four pennies...I only have three. I'd bet if I needed three right now...I'd only have two. :twitch:

It takes a while to get to it, but if you go to espn.com then to the lacrosse page (click on "all sports" and then lacrosse), there's a video rundown of the two games yesterday, and they show it. I hope to see it more clearly at some point, but at any angle, it's still a pretty goal.

They will replay the game tonight at 4am on ESPU. It ends at 6, so you can tape the game in 2 hours. (I'm sure they leave in his goal :D )

Well, CJC must have somehow gotten vibes and decided to take matters into his own hands and give me a Laettner-esque moment to savor! No greater ending was ever conjured up by Hollywood! Five defenders and the best goalie in the country against him and he still pulled off a shot better than a braveheart! It's always the most fun to see the guy on defense score the big time shot and gain the respect of all those offensive wizards.

Long live the long poll !
