So which is worse: the UConn scandal or the Kansas ticket-scalping scandal? I'm thinking UConn.
Waiting for a Calipari scandal.

Kansas cheated their own. The U-cons cheated all of us and has done so more than once.. I vote U-cons are the worst.....sort of.
Love, Ima
PS As for slick-as-calamari-Calipari?.....He's just a scandal in his own right already.

Well, there's a reason we refer to them as u-con, as in convict.
It's just a matter of time before we hear about Calipari again, and UK pays the price for his crimes. Maybe. The NCAA doesn't have a very good track record of going after big-time schools, as we all know.

Catspause.com is fun to look at. Almost every thread is about the investigation.

The KU scandal sounds like it involves hundreds of thousands of $ and may involve other schools. The uCON crap appears to just be limited to calhoun and his former henchmen. I'll vote for the KU mess to be far, far worse.
Now, about UK, dukediv2012 told me last PM that there is gonna be an investigation into Bledsoe's recruiting last year, possibly involving payments to his HS/AAU coaches to see him play.

I guess this means Cleveland State's 2009-2010 season is in jeopardy...

I was trying to find that quote by Tarkanian yesterday!
Also, the NYT article that jesus_hurley posted is really informative. I was going to link to it this morning but got beaten to it.
Interesting how Bledsoe needed a 2.4+ GPA (because of his low ACT scores) to go D1, and his grades went from 1.9 cumulative his junior year to 2.5 cumulative his senior year. Saying that, apparently he wasn't in the Derrick Rose pipeline, or his ACT scores would have been a lot higher. ;)

I think it's safe to figure out who got the 1.9 at Kentucky their freshmen year.

Probably cousins and bledsoe-combined. Those grades are nearing the Blutarski range...

Since the subject of a team's academic grades has come up, I want to pass on something Coach Cutcliffe shared when he visited WS this past week. He was discussing the improvements made in weight lifting made by the members of the football team over the past few years. He said that the next area he challenged the team in was their academic performances. He described the team overall average as something along the lines of mediocre. He said that as of the end of this past spring semester, the football team's overall average was above a 3.0. Not bad!

In a way, I'm glad my mom wasn't around to witness the fall of her and our family's team, USC. It appears that they're gonna get nailed in both football AND basketball. Her heart would have been completely broken.
