Inspired by the LTE discussion of THE BIGGEST LOSER, I actually understand Miles' appreciation of that show.
On the other hand, I don't get the Animal Planet reality show competition about dog groomers. Seriously. Windsor... help me out on that one.
Then again, I don't get how Ugly Betty lasted this long.

Can't help you - that show makes my top ten WTF? list. I can only assume it is Animal Planets attempt to cash on the 'reality' show mania. If half the competitions had anything to do with real world dog grooming I might get it....but most of them are just stupid.
I am not a fan of any of the competitive reality shows - I do not get them. I do not like them.

I don't get shows like "Deal or No Deal" and "The Moment of Truth". I can tolerate "Deal or No Deal" but after a while I get bothered because I see people struggling with greed. Saw an episode of "The Moment of Truth" and it literally, made me queasy.

I am amazed and what people will do for a few dollars and 15 seconds of fame.

I don't get any of those cool shows like Rome, but that's cause my wife's too cheap to let me spring for Showtime.

I don't understand the fascination of families with large #'s of kids. John & Kate makes 8, and last night, I saw an ad for one about a family with 12! kids.
Now, I don't really like the idea of huge families anyways (want more kids? Adopt!), but hey, who am I to say anything. But, what I really don't understand is everyone else who *watches* these large families.
Then again, I loathe all TV-judge shows too, so what do I know about good tv....

Where have you been, DA? 12 kids, what's with that? The Duggars, who have their own show, have
18 kids!!! And I think a few in the family of 12 are adopted, but maybe not.

I wonder what would happen if I posted on TOWEL what I just said about FRINGE.
And since you mentioned it, I don't get LOST.

Really? Do you have a built in compass in your head or something? I am just being silly.
I do not get "wife switch" (I think that's the name of the show). It's boring after a few shows because, surprise surprise, the outcome will be obvious not to mention the match-up is also obvious.
There are a host of new shows coming on in the next few months, and as usual 95% of 'em will be losers. One show is slightly interesting and that is a matchmaking type of show for umm, well... let's just say it is for the more realistic proportioned folks in society today. Any thoughts on that?
I agree on other posters, I do not get most of the competitive shows, especially the animal planet one and that "moment of truth" or whatever. Creeped me out at the blatant greed and what a person is willing to do (and the lack of pride and humility) for some cash.

Not to be an ass (TOO LATE), but I think it's called "Wife Swap". Just settin' the record straight.

I don't get any reality shows. They bug the living crap out of me and I flatly refuse to watch them - ever.

I don't get any of the CSI shows. In case you've never seen one, here's how it works:
Crime gets committed in shocking or especially violent fashion. Detectives perform cursory investigation, consuming ~20-25 minutes of airtime. Detectives extort confession. The degree of formulaic predictability is shocking to me.
I also think 24 rather sucks. Some of the worst writing I've ever encountered.
And don't even get me started on "The Real Housewives of..."
