CTN's "S" List
I think we should have an official S-List thread (That is "shit-list" for those less than informed on the vulgarities)
So with that, I'd like to submit the first of hopefully a long line of entries of those people/persons/things that should be added to the shit-list....
Rap music.
I do not like rap music!
Not only from the terribly written lyrics and the repetitous beat (not to mention the ripoffs and covers from songs from the 70's and 80's) and from them talking than actual singing, but also because they talk so damn fast that I cannot understand 'em!

Rhymes with dumbo.

Ditto. Plus, many of the "songs" are extremely degrading to women.knights68 wrote:I think we should have an official S-List thread (That is "shit-list" for those less than informed on the vulgarities)

Re: CTN's "S" List
I love most music. I'm always excited to find something new, including rap/hip-hop. There is a lot of crap out there today, but that doesn't set rap apart from mainstream pop, rock, jazz, etc. In fact, I think the problem is with mainstream music in general, most of it is just shitty, poorly written audio distractions for the masses.knights68 wrote:I think we should have an official S-List thread (That is "shit-list" for those less than informed on the vulgarities)

I like rap too much to place it on a shit list that I have a vote in. Of course, I can't think of a rap song made in the last 15 years that I liked. ;)

Amen to that one...... The song, "Do You Know the Way to San Jose" could be rewritten to ask "Have you ever been in Cameron?"windsor wrote:Rhymes with dumbo.

Re: CTN's "S" List
The Roots "Do You Want More?!?" came out in 1995 and it remains one of my favorite hip-hop albums to date. Superbly mixed, dynamic beats, and hell, they play their instruments.bjornolf wrote:I like rap too much to place it on a shit list that I have a vote in. A Tribe Called Quest put out two albums within your time frame. Sure, it's not their best work but there are some likable tracks.
Of course there's always Wu-Tang. I think RZA is probably one of the most under appreciated music artists in the past 15 years.
I get your point though, I think rap/hip-hop has been suffering, especially for mainstream audiences. There's still some good stuff in the underground, but you have to look for it.

Oz, you should know enough about my sports loyalties to know the answer to that question. But his post-retirement activities don't help.OZZIE4DUKE wrote:Jim Leyritz? For what he did in Miami after he retired, or for what he did as a Yankee?wilson wrote:Fleetwood Mac is on my shit list.

I can think of...
A) Fred Brown for throwing that pass to Worthy.
B) Chris Weber for calling that damn TO he didn't have.
These, right from the top.
