Most Excellent!
Was just thinking as I was driving back to the house this afternoon about creating some kind of design/photoshop that reads something like, "DUKE, Basketball National Champions......From Koubek to Zoubek."

Well, you could just say "From K to Z". Nobody would think of Koubek, but that's OK. How many times did we, including me, call Brian "Greg" when he was a freshman. I believe Art Chandler did it in Cameron a time or two too.EarlJam wrote:Most Excellent!

How about "From A to Z"....Alarie to Zoubek..that almost covers K's entire career, and from his 1st FF to his last.OZZIE4DUKE wrote:Well, you could just say "From K to Z". Re: Just did myself a little craft project.
I Loved Mark Alarie. He wore number 32 and was a bad ass whom many have forgotten. Wonder what he's doing now. Last I heard he was in banking, but I know he played some in the NBA.CameronBornAndBred wrote:Alarie was first.OZZIE4DUKE wrote:Why not start with Alaa Abdelnabi?CameronBornAndBred wrote: How about "From A to Z"....Alarie to Zoubek..that almost covers K's entire career, and from his 1st FF to his last.
Anyway, this post has inspired me to play the Alphabet Game with Duke (Friday Night! Can't stop me!)
I will NOT try to name EVERY player whose last name fits the letter of the alphabet. Only one player (the first that comes to mind) for each letter. The goal is to accurately pinpoint a Duke player for each letter of the alphabet. For this first pass, I will not "cheat," but cheating is welcome for any letters I may be missing. Feel free to chime in for the letters where I could not think of players. Here we go:
A - Mark Alarie
B - Shane Battier
C - Chris Carrawell
D - Johnny Dawkins
E - Daniel Ewing
F - Danny Ferry
G - Mike Giminski
H - Bobby Hurley
I - Kyrie Irving (a.k.a. Mister Mister Irving - anyone get the reference?)
J - Nate James
K - Greg Koubek
L - Christian Laettner
M - Dan Meaghar
N - DeMarcus Nelson
O -
P - Miles Plumlee
Q -
R - J.J. Redick
S - Quin Snyder
T - Lance Thomas
U -
V - Steve Vacendak
W - Steve Wojowhowajushtwbkski
X -
Y -
Z - Brian Zoubek
Can't believe that without looking I can't think of something for "N." That one seems like a pretty common last-name letter. Help?

Wilson, who knew you could be so crafty? I love it!
EarlJam, your alphabet game would be a good way to fall asleep at night, trying to match up players' names with the ABCs.
F - Richard Ford
