Let's Talk M&Ms, Skittles, Jelly Beans and Such
One thing the above mentioned candies all have in common are multiple flavors (or at least colors) for individual pieces. Personally, for M&Ms, I can't tell a difference in taste from the green or yellow or red, etc. Still though, I have favorites.
So, I ask you, the CTNers. Of the following colors to choose from, what are your top two favorites? You may vote for two. (I put "colors" vs. "flavors" for reasons stated above).
Please vote on this as this is part of the Decadinal EarlJam U.S. Trivial-NonCensus.

You need to separate Blue into Duke Blue and "other blues". ;) I voted for Duke Blue.

Yes, consider it "Duke blue" for certain. Is there any other kind of blue?OZZIE4DUKE wrote:You need to separate Blue into Duke Blue and "other blues". ;) I voted for Duke Blue.

I voted brown with regards to M&Ms as chocolate is brown, thus there are fewer chemicals in brown M&Ms. I heard that in a movie. Anyone care to guess which movie and who said it first?

Skittles are awesome....like jelly beans the colors translate to flavors. I organize my skittles and eat handfuls of one color at a time.

Re: Let's Talk M&Ms, Skittles, Jelly Beans and Such
I love candy. Love it.
I voted only for red, because it is just about universally my favorite color of the above type of candy. Strawberry or other berry flavor, though (in fact, with many candies, strawberry is the only flavor I really like, and I eat the others because they're good enough...whenever I find a place that sells the all strawberry sleeves of Mentos, I'll buy a pack, no questions asked). If it's cherry, then yeccch. Tastes like medicine.
My second favorite flavor varies rather widely according to the candy. My second favorite Skittle, for example, would be grape, with orange following closely. Often, however, I don't like grape candy at all.
I was momentarily inclined to vote white as my second favorite flavor, because I really like pineapple candy. It's fairly rare, though; the only examples that come to mind are Life Savers and Life Savers jelly beans, which I only recently sampled for the first time. Incidentally, they're excellent...8-10 flavors, nearly all of which are superior to the Starburst jelly beans with which some of you may be familiar. The cherry ones, though, are particularly bad...I spit one right out on Katie's floor the other night (she threatened to send me to time out).
Back to the white candy, though...I hesitated, because sometimes white candy is coconut-flavored, in which case please get it away from me. As for the other flavors, I generally like them roughly equally, except maybe yellow...lemon candy has traditionally been my least favorite in a mixture the likes of which we're discussing here (that said, it's growing on me as my palate matures, and Lemon Heads are delicious).
I suppose I'll stop there, because I could talk about this all day. Hell, I could probably write a dissertation on it. ;)
Oh, but one last thing...M&M's don't have flavors. I have no problem with people having favorite colors, but nobody can tell any difference between them when the only variation is in the dye they use on the shell (unless maybe you're a super-taster ).

I did the same thing. Usually it means cherry, every now and then it turns out to be spicy cinnamon (not a fan).wilson wrote:I love candy. Love it.

Candy Sprite. Awesome. That reminds me of "Bottlecaps." Y'all remember those? I always liked the Dr. Pepper or Root Beer flavors.CameronBornAndBred wrote:No way, smush them together and you have candy Sprite!fordgrl00 wrote:I love me some skittles and starburst!! The one with Jennifer Lopez playing wedding planner to Mathew McConaughy (sp?). He was a doctor married some blonde socialite and he and Jennifer fell in love. They sat on a tree in the park watching movies and tossing away M&Ms. Although, now that I think of it - weren't they tossing out the brown ones?TillyGalore wrote:I voted brown with regards to M&Ms as chocolate is brown, thus there are fewer chemicals in brown M&Ms. I heard that in a movie. Re: Let's Talk M&Ms, Skittles, Jelly Beans and Such
One of my friends bought me a bag of the Duke Blue M&Ms in 2004 during the tournament. I didn't know until then that you could buy single color M&Ms.
When Devil84 and I lived in Aycock, we would separate out the M&Ms by color. I would only eat one color at a time. I always saved the green for last. There was a rumor that green M&Ms had an aphrodisiac property.
Wilson mentioned Lifesavers, and that reminded me of the silly fun I had in junior high school. My friends and I and would go in the bathroom, cut off the light and chew Wint-O-Green Lifesavers in front of the mirror to watch the sparks emanate from our mouths. I might go out and get a package of Wint-O-Green Lifesavers tomorrow morning to entertain 's kiddos with that trick.

And you had to eat the green ones after the orange ones.
