Purnell to Depaul

OP has agreed to become the head coach at Depaul.

DePaul agreed with Clemson's Oliver Purnell late Monday on a seven-year contract that will pay Purnell well beyond his current $1.6 million salary he was making with the Tigers.

Purnell will be introduced at a 2:30 p.m. ET news conference Tuesday in Chicago, DePaul spokesperson Greg Greenwell confirmed.

Good for Clemson. Oliver wasn't their answer, never would be.

He'll be a hot commodity this offseason. But if stays put and can't replicate this season I don't think he'll ever get the same monetary offers as now.

I liked Oliver Purnell. I wish he'd had UNC at the Dean Dome on his schedule this year. If he'd been able to lead Clemson to a victory over UNC in Chapel Hill this year, he would be the biggest celebrity to come out of South Carolina this year.

Instead, that honor goes to Mark Sanford--hiking the Appalachian Trail!
