Is Kyle leaving? --- The answer is officially NO!
When Nolan was asked what he was doing differently as he has stepped up and has been playing well. He said no and that he was trying to make sure each game wasn't Jon, Kyle, and Lance's last game. I rewound the feed to confirm he did in fact say, "Jon, Kyle, and Lance".

Re: Is Kyle leaving?
I just watched that, but didn't catch the quote like you did. How strange..I would honestly guess that Kyle doesn't know until he goes through the process after the season is over.TillyGalore wrote:When Nolan was asked what he was doing differently as he has stepped up and has been playing well. Good ears, Tilly...I hope he meant to say Brian.

I heard that too. I hope he meant to say Brian, but I fear he was speaking the truth.TillyGalore wrote:When Nolan was asked what he was doing differently as he has stepped up and has been playing well. I hope he's not leaving!
Tilly, you'll have to work your magic at the Basketball Banquet. I'll always remember your sweet voice ringing out and pleading, "Please don't leave," to Gerald Henderson last year.
Of course, he left, and now he's missing out on playing for the national championship. ;)

I caught it too; I turned to my husband and said, "I hope that was a mistake and not him letting something slip." Please stay, Kyle! Just think how much more awesome next year's team will be with you!

Like CB&B and Ozzie, I'm hoping Nolan meant Brian too.

If anyone in the media picks up on this "slip", wonder if it will impact the concentration of the team leading up to Monday's game.

Re: Is Kyle leaving?
Well he could have meant Kyle and actually knows something. Or maybe he's just assuming. Or maybe he slipped and meant Brian.
Either way I'm not worrying about it until Tuesday.

Re: Is Kyle leaving?
I've seen Kyle's draft stock as being anywhere from very late first round to the middle of round two. Would he go higher if he stuck around another year? Maybe. Right now it's probably a toss up whether he comes back.
The wild card in the equation is the impending labor dispute in the NBA. There are rumblings that there may not be a 2011 NBA Draft and that threat has led to a lot of players coming out this season who, quite frankly, have no business being in the draft. I bet we see a record number of undrafted underclassmen this year.

Re: Is Kyle leaving?
If we do and he sticks around, that might get him a lottery pick next year by default. I'm sure the NBA will work it out. Nobody wants to lose out on that kind of money. If not, I'm sure he could make serious coin for a year or two in Europe.rockymtn devil wrote:I bet we see a record number of undrafted underclassmen this year.

Re: Is Kyle leaving?
I would expect Kyle to test the waters but not hire an agent right away. He would be a fool not to explore his options. I shall not think of this again until tomorrow.

Smith, who scored 13 points in the title game, said, "I'm definitely not even considering going. Unless somebody said, 'Nolan, you're going to be the No. 1 pick,' and John Wall has that on lock.

If Kyle does leave.... I'm content with that. He led us to the championship and if he's gonna go first round, I can't blame him.

He was very cagey at the welcome back...of course if you aren't 100% it is very hard to dodge all of Cameron screaming 'ONE MORE YEAR!' without sounding cagey.

If he stays, great. If he leaves, K re-loads/re-builds. Lots of positives to either scenario. Mrs. DD and I discussed that very topic on our walk tonight.windsor wrote:He was very cagey at the welcome back...of course if you aren't 100% it is very hard to dodge all of Cameron screaming 'ONE MORE YEAR!' without sounding cagey.
