Johnny Damon, the Red Sox, Yankees, now Tiger professional baseball player appears to be developing a pattern of signing short-term, mega contracts, as negotiated by agent Scott Boras with different teams. He's 36 years old.

How many more MLB teams will he sell out to?

P.S. This is NOT an anti-wealth post. Get all you can get! Just like to see a LITTLE bit of loyalty in sports (e.g., my favorite player of all time, Cal Ripken).

Kansas City had him first. Or are the Royals a farm team? ;)

I LOVED the Royals as a kid. George Brett was my favorite and is STILL one of my favorites. And he is loyalty personified. Exactly what I'm talking about. He genuinely loathed the Yankees and said he would NEVER play for them. I believe/believed him. He was fierce!

Sadly, yes, seems many smaller market teams end up being "farm teams" for the Yankees and Red Sox teams of the world. I love it when a smaller market sneaks in there to kick some "A" (e.g., Tampa Bay the year before last).
