Only on annoying telemarketers or annoying people who are supposed to be helping me but won't do so because they're too busy reading through the checklist of things I've already told them I've done.

Alright... I confess....
1. I can relate to the telemarketers and have done it, but had a really hard time with it until they got me X( X( X( X(, then it was easy! :D, but I still felt bad :(
2. Accidentally, most definitely yes, mostly beyond my control, cell tower shortcomings or cheek hit the end button because the convo was soo exhilarating, (honestly, that has only happened like two or three times after having one too many tini's ;) ....
3. Well, ... a very rare occasion but my X happened to hit me at the wrong time with her fabulous way of stirring the pot and to avoid incriminating myself... I hung up for the first time ever to save myself from unwarranted stress and anxiety.... I'm not saying this was a proud moment as this is way out of character, but it sure did feel good then! Remember,.....non-attribution! ;)

I have on rare occasions. Usually telemarketers.

One thing that kind of sticks in my craw is one of my best friends. He gets RIGHT to the end of the conversation. Both of you know a hang up is inevitable, and then it ends like this.

me: "So, just wanted to call to see how you're doing."
him: "Cool."
me: "Have a good one."
Click. He's gone.

He hangs up without saying goodbye or letting you say goodbye. It always feels so abrupt and weird.

That is abrupt and weird. I can appreciate your feelings on this. One of my coworkers ends each phone conversation by saying "Call me." Sometimes it makes sense, because we have something to talk about later, but most of the time it has no place in our conversation and is completely out of context. Makes me feel like he's not really paying attention.

K68 was pissing me off one time, so I hung up on him. He was not happy with me, not that I blame him.

It's sad, but true, I get pissed of sometimes.

The OP, usually in his ivory tower, frequently hangs up abruptly and without saying goodbye when HE'S through talking. I suspect this is only with me. I doubt seriously if he gets away with that with business associates.

On the subject of telemarketers, my daughter used to just hand the phone to Native when he was a little bitty tyke. He LOVED to talk on the phone to anybody. It would keep him happy and busy for a while and the marketer would go nuts.

It's an excuse for you to get at least three more posts... that or it's a typo for a THREAD. ;)

For that matter, it's an excuse for me to pad my post count by two. And I have now edited the post accordingly. :ymblushing:
