ACC Vs. The NCAA

Sorry Hokies...not sure how you got the boot, and Wake got in. Bright side, not a chance in hell that the holes are in the NIT. Hokies and Wolfpack look better for that tourney.

Wow. I haven't watched much yet. But ya gotta have better than a SOS or RPI better than ~140 to get the invite. Oh, and not lay an egg in the 1st round of the ACCT. That is still a bit surprising as they were 10-6 in the regular season, IIRC. Or was it 9-7. I'm surprised the d**** got an invite after their sleep-walking vs um. Oh, and their loss to the 'holes at home.CameronBornAndBred wrote:Sorry Hokies...not sure how you got the boot, and Wake got in. Bright side, not a chance in hell that the holes are in the NIT. The Hokies were 10-6, and they did have an RPI of 59, which was better than a couple teams that got in. I definitely think their early exit in the ACCT is what killed them. To be fair, they did schedule a couple teams that could have helped their SOS in Temple, Iowa, Georgia, and Seton Hall. I don't think they expected some of those to HURT their SOS.devildeac wrote:Wow. I haven't watched much yet. But ya gotta have better than a SOS or RPI better than ~140 to get the invite. Musta been their SOS that I remember at ~140 from some recent games. I agree they shoulda been chosen but I am no Seethe Greenturd fan so I don't feel much sorrow for them.bjornolf wrote:The Hokies were 10-6, and they did have an RPI of 59, which was better than a couple teams that got in. I agree 100%. I wasn't trying to make excuses for VT or make it sound like they got jobbed. I'm just saying they had no way of knowing that Seton Hall, Iowa, and Georgia were all gonna suck and pull their SOS DOWN. That's all I was saying.Jesus_hurley wrote:Hokies non-conference SOS was something like 339 out of 343. That's not going to cut it. Add that to a loss to the 'holes and a first round exit in the tourney. But they should have been in and Wake should have gone to the NIT. And the 'holes should have been in the CBI.
Most definitely - I agree as well. I think all 3 of those teams were picked as middle tier teams in their league which should have brought the SOS up some. What really hurt VT were the games against (RPI):bjornolf wrote:I agree 100%. I wasn't trying to make excuses for VT or make it sound like they got jobbed.
