I am about to watch 2012...

Reluctant as I fear a movie full of special effects with a shit plot. Anyone else seen it? Am I about to waste my time?

I fell asleep during this movie. A complete waste of money...for me. I should have used the cash to purchase two Filet O' Fish.

I no longer watch movies with the expectation of being entertained. That way if I am, it's a pleasant surprise.

And when I'm not, it makes it that much easier to justify falling asleep in the middle of it.

I am with you on this one! I went to see Jurassic Park when it first came out in the theater's and that was ONE LOUD MOVIE, all the screeching and squealing, (mind you I think I need hearing aids and didn't have them then), and my body shut down and I slept through the entire movie after about 15-20 minutes into it. I attribute it to the noise but working long hours doesn't help either! :-? :-? :-s :-s :-s :-s ;)

I figured the movie would have been along the lines of "Day after Tomorrow" and "Knowing".
But in the same light.... how were the effects?
I would consider seeing the movie if only for the effects.
I approach these kinds of movies (high FX and end of the world type movies) kinda like porn.... I never watch it for the storyline, I go for the visuals! lolol

I didn't even think the special effects were that good. Cartoonish and wayyyyyy too "busy," if that makes sense.

I too love special effects, but I simply could not watch this movie. Now Zombieland and Inglorious Bastards, I can HIGHLY recommend! Seriously.

Zombieland was one of my favorite movies last year. Don't get me wrong, I loved Inglorious Basterds too, but Zombieland had a special place in my heart because I love Zombie movies and it was a pleasant surprise that far exceeded my expectations.
