Time for this oh-so-tasty yearly topic, no?
The first course: your Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. With Gonzaga's loss to St. Mary's last night in the WCC final, the Jackets are in big trouble. And Paul Hewitt might want to dust off the old resume.

I remember year's ago Hewitt saying he'd love to coach in the NBA someday. Maybe he can land a job with the Knicks or Nets. He's been sort of an enigma. Great wins followed up by long losing streaks to average teams. It's hard to figure out but I think it's safe to say that the thing that has saved him to date is the fact that he coaches basketball in the heart of football country. The passion for hoops in Georgia doesn't come close to the level of passion in North Carolina. It is often an afterthought, gravy on the main course of football when things are going well. That said, fans are waking up and have had it with Hewitt.
I agree. They will not get in unless they make a deep run in the ACC Tournament.

This is a good point. It also bears noting that Georgia Tech's recent football resurgence may actually have an effect on Paul Blewitt's job status. Both excitement for the program and BCS berths generate cash for the school, and some of the fruits of Paul Johnson's labor may well help to fund a Paul Blewitt buyout.

Yeah, I obviously spoke too soon:

ESPN article about his job and how the AD will wait till the season ends before making a decision. Sounds like he either needs to win the NIT or make it to the sweet 16 in order to stay on the bubble for his job.

figure this is as good a place for this:
http://www.nitology.com/
NIT predictions. Current ACC teams:
Georgia Tech (1)
unc-ch (6)
NC State (8)
Miami and BC are currently on the wrong side of the bubble and are likely in the CBI or collegeinsider.com tournament
