Help For Listening To Online Radio Station

For some time now I have been a regular listener of a radio station based in London England that also broadcasts on the web. Over the last couple of days, however, I cannot seem to connect properly. I usually connect using Safari but sometimes also use Firefox. When their web player pops up there are buttons at the top (play, stop, etc.) that I normally don't have to hit to get sound but now all of those buttons except for play are greyed out. Play is darkened so I hit it to get the audio stream to play which turns all of the other buttons dark (ie. not greyed out) but this only lasts for a few seconds and then all of the buttons (except for play) are greyed out again and I don't get any sound.

Does anyone have any experience with web players and, if so, can they maybe give me an idea of what might be wrong here? I haven't explained the situation all that well but hopefully you'll all be able to understand what is going on here. Also, this is happening on both of my computers (laptop and desktop).

In case it helps or to see if anyone else experiences the same problem, here is the link to the station's website. Once on their homepage just hit the 'Listen Live' button towards the top of the page and that will launch their web player.

As usual, any and all help is greatly appreciated.

I was able to open the Listen Live link at work and hear the station. When I tried to open it on my home computer, I got a message that I need to add plug-ins.

Do you think you don't have the correct application? Though not sure which application my computer is using.

This is the address I pulled for the radio station. Thought it might help.

Often those streaming apps use Flash, and an upgrade will fix any problems. This one seems to use media player though, so I'm not sure. I do know that some CD burning software will interfere with Windows Media Player ability to stream. One of my clients is a dentist, and they stream videos from their server. One workstation wouldn't do it. After 2 hours on the phone with their software provider's tech support (they gave up) and another hour on my own troubleshooting, I uninstalled their Nero software, and voila! Luckily they didn't use that pc to burn any cd's.

I had the correct application because I was able to listen to it until a couple of days ago (I listened to it daily).

I just tried it now and it seems to be working fine. That's really strange - not sure why it wouldn't have worked for a couple of days only to mysteriously start working again this morning. Oh well, at least it is working now so that I can get my fix.

I can think of two reasons why it worked, then didn't and now does.
1. The radio station had a problem on their end, which they finally fixed.
2. The radio station updated their version of Flash, your computer didn't and there was an incompatibility. When your computer finally did it on its own automatically it "fixed" the problem and you worked again. :-B

Both of those scenarios make sense. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to listen to it any more as I have developed quite an addiction to it.
