I'm off-site using a computer because I'm really jonesing for some Crazietalk.net! Should get my laptop back from BestBuy in the next couple of days and then I will be back up to speed. I'm also here because I'm jonesing hard for a job, and am printing out resumes for networking. I look at people out on the street in a whole new light these days - and not trying to be funny at all. My heart really, really, REALLY goes out to people who are trying but can't get in the door. I had someone I distantly know call me up the other day asking for money for food. Seriously. This is insane. On the bright side, I find a great deal of comfort in "homes" like this one here.

I'll third this. Its tough. Our third grandson, Adam moved in with us almost 2 wks. ago. The company he was working for has almost folded. He has signed up to join the Air Force, which will be around 6 mo. before he can go (waiting on the job in the AF he wants).

If nothing else, hard times give you a greater sense of empathy for others who are also down on their luck. It really, genuinely sucks to go through life-altering bad experiences, but it's a true sign of inner strength to come out on the other side with a greater appreciation for your fellow travelers through life. Kudos to you, EarlJam, for keeping a sense of perspective.
