I looked in the fridge earlier and discovered that I have a jar full of pickle juice. No pickles though.

Katie has a jar of Claussen kosher dill sandwich slices in her fridge. I ate several of them this afternoon.

Bubbies.
End of discussion.

Unless we start talking about old-fashioned outta the large jar of brine on the deli counter type pickles.

On that Food Tech show they did all of the ingredients in a hamburger, including pickles. They filmed at the Mount Olive pickle company in NC, it was pretty fascinating to watch. They have these huge vats outside that are full of pickling cucumbers. Looked like it would be a neat place to take a tour of.

Slice a cucumber very thinly and store it in your leftover juice in the fridge. Wait a while and voila!

Sue served up my first Bubbies pickle. Delicious! I'm a big fan of pickled tomatoes.

I must disagree with you though, it is hardly the end of the discussion. Pickles are too good a food to dedicate oneself to a specific brand. Enjoy them all!

IIRC, Food Network had a New York episode of its scavanger hunt/geocaching competition show (Chef vs. City) in which the two teams had to visit a mom&pop pickle shop. They were snarfing down about 20 different varieties of pickles.

I wonder who has the best deli pickles in Atlanta.

The matter of pickle vs no pickles is a defining question in our family. Whether one likes pickles or not is an important issue. As children are born and others join the family by marriage, the pickle lovers want to know if the newest family member has the pickle gene.
