Surely all of these were metaphors for her mind and how smart she is, right? I mean, I can't imagine America's culture putting physical and material atttributes above the mental and spiritual???

Apparently, Tony Kornheiser said that he didn't think she dressed appropriately, and now he's suspended for two weeks. Ouch. Seems a little overboard to me. I mean, all the guys dress in suits, and she dresses like she's going to a party. I don't have a problem with the way she dresses, but I also don't think Tony should get suspended just for voicing this opinion. It's not like he said anything damning about her character or anything. I mean, it's much harsher what some of these guys are saying about LT and Brian Westbrook (i.e. that they're washed up and finished in the NFL) than what he said about her. Should all those people be suspended for damaging their ability to find work? They pay these guys to voice their opinions. If we suspend them for that, how are they supposed to do their jobs?

Your version of the recent is history is EXTREMELY limited. He actually did say something damning about her character and women in general. First, he objectifies all women by stating that only women of a certain age or appearance are deemed worthy enough to wear shorter skirts or a certain fashion. Then he pigeon holes her and portrays her to be some kind of whore. (and anyone that wants to argue with me about the male fascination with catholic-school plaid skirts need only google it first.) To top it all off, he assaults her appearance. Here's the quote which you might've missed:

"She's got on red go-go boots and a Catholic-school plaid skirt. Way too short for somebody in her 40s - or maybe early 50s by now. She's got on her typically very, very tight shirt. She looks like she has sausage casing wrapping around her upper body," he added.

Let's not forget that she is a co-worker and ESPN has every damn right to suspend employees that do something that harms their image, and I've got to think that any dipshit like Kornheiser who opens his mouth in this manner regarding a co-worker does hurt their image.

In my opinion, ESPN should fire the shithead. He's been a worthless, shock-journalist since day one and this recent episode only proves his worth to the network; nothing.

I was going by what the woman on the radio said, who has worked with him for years, and what others were saying about the incident. I didn't actually hear that part of the quote myself. They must have conveniently left that part out of the recap I heard. Ouch. I still don't know if he should be fired. Others have gotten away with worse, but that certainly does deserve a suspension. For what you quoted, I probably would have given him a month.

Right on dude, no harm no foul. I had a feeling that you had missed that quote. I too heard a similar recount of the story and it actually took some digging to find the full quote. What's even worse is that he's been rather dismissive about the whole ordeal, saying something like if you talk publicly for a long time eventually you'll say something stupid, and this was his time. Kornhole has made his career out of being a douchebag. If he were a dinosaur, he would be douchebagosaurus rex.

I watched PTI last night before the Duke game. It was actually enjoyable without Kornheiser.
