I hit post and the system said the thread didn't exist. Now I know why.devildeac wrote:OK, I was a minute late. Let the mods merge the threads.
I just remembered that I need to go up into the attic and check the water heater!CathyCA wrote:We're watching the New Year's Eve shows. I have no idea who most of these acts are. I really do miss Guy Lombardo.

I sincerely hope that you're laughing at Letterman, and not at the fact that you're going to have a cold shower tomorrow morning.cl15876 wrote:I just remembered that I need to go up into the attic and check the water heater!CathyCA wrote:We're watching the New Year's Eve shows. Letterman had a little problem in 2009.CathyCA wrote:We're watching the New Year's Eve shows. I have no idea who most of these acts are. I really do miss Guy Lombardo.

Umm, Dick Clark still appears every year.CathyCA wrote:We're watching the New Year's Eve shows. I have no idea who most of these acts are. I really do miss Guy Lombardo.
Mrs. DD was appalled at his speech/vocal tones. I agreed and thought he sounded like some kinda voice-over from a bad sci-fi movie. IIRC, he had a stroke 2-3 years ago (?) and has been far from his old self, as one might expect.Lavabe wrote:Umm, Dick Clark still appears every year.CathyCA wrote:We're watching the New Year's Eve shows. Yes, he had a stroke. I'm just glad he's still around.devildeac wrote:Mrs. DD was appalled at his speech/vocal tones. From what you said, I'm glad they cashed in. When you say editorial control, does that mean they would still have control over the moderating system, keep the OTB, and keep the EK Forum name, or are they solely responsible for the editorial and opinion pieces?OZZIE4DUKE wrote:Oh, did you see that J&B have finally sold the DBR? If not, read the article on DBR's front page. I saw Julio before yesterday's game. We exchanged pleasantries and good wishes - he's a good man and a good friend. I'm glad he and Boswell (also a good man and a good friend) are cashing in on all their hard work - they deserve it. I know they really hope DBR gets better and that they expect to maintain editorial control.
