I'm creating this thread so we can keep tabs on and get updates from our Duke Blue adventurers. :D
I merged VDB's over, and since she created her post before this thread, it's at the top.

I'm in Hackensack, ~10 miles from MSG. I'll get to Manhattan tomorrow late morning, either by bus (which stops right across the street, or by PATH train, which is farther away.

No snow yet (9:35 pm). The clerk said it wouldn't start until late morning. Don't really believe him ;) but we'll see. They said I could leave my car here until Sunday when I return from Manhattan.

Trip took almost 11 hours, instead of under 9. Traffic from mid-Virginia to mid-Jersey was a bitch. Lots of stop and crawl, drive 30 mph, then 70, then stop and crawl again. But I'm here!

And I made a stop to pick up lunch, but that's another (new) thread! Or will be shortly... :D

When did you go?

We left Derm at 9 am and got to South Jersey before 5. About 7.5 hrs. It was one of the shortest drives I've had with the family.

I'm glad you all got there safely! It has been snowing here since about 830-900pm as I suspected it would.

Since Oz wasn't coming by tonight :( :( :(, I stopped by to make sure my folks were okay and didn't need anything, then like clock work as predicted, the snow really started about 9pm, but actually started flurries around 830pm so I headed for grocery store and home immediately. The Grocery store was a joke, looked like it had been looted, no idaho white potatoes for latke's tomorrow, but I got some chicken so I could make some fried chicken before the game. Ozzie, you made a great decision by going all the way tonight, but I'm missing ya right now.

I stopped to get my kids this evening and on the way I listened to the National Weather Service channel that my new (but used) Mercedes has in it and I told my X, that although I would love to get snowed in with my kids, I wasn't planning on driving in 2 ft of snow on Sunday, so unless she was, then I think for my kids safety, it might be a wise idea for them to stay with her this weekend and we could swap yet another one of her weekends (this will be #3), and she (much to my surprise) actually was very reasonable and agreed immediately. However, I had to do some nurturing with my lil man, because he has been really missing daddy (as I do him and his sister every day) and the X actually finally got it tonight (thank you God, I knew you would come thru in your time, not anyone elses) and the X said, can you take them out to do something because thomas is really missing you (thank you God, she finally got it)!!!! Do you think there was a hesitation.... absolutely NOT!!!!

So, I set my lil man on my knee while sitting on the step (she actually invited me into her house where it was warm... imagine that, with audience observing - X and daughter) and had a lil discussion with my boy and it was hard for me to keep from letting the water pipes drip visibly when I explained to him what the new plan was for this weekend due to the unsafe weather conditions and he was soo disappointed when he heard that he wasn't coming with Daddy for the weekend and it kills me (hard to even type this right now... taking a breath.... damn it, another breath....), but I was able to stand fast and get him to understand and we (my son and daughter and I) went out to spend some time together tonight before the snow hit and it was A LOT of fun! We went bowling for about 2 hours. I love my kiddos soooo much!!!! They were loving the ride in the car and we had a great time!!! In the end, I told him that if the weather people were wrong and no snow showed up tonight and tomorrow, he could rest assured that I would be calling him first thing and heading up there (about 30 miles) to go get him and his sister so we could be together and they both were okay with that.

ON another and happier note, Janet and I (amongst many others have been watching the weather all day) and I thank God again that my girl and her son made it to Raleigh safely tonight and only experienced a little sleet around Wilson, but mostly rain (thank you Lord). I was watching very intently all afternoon and was praying that the storm would stay west of Raleigh (especially for EJ) and that the ice and snow would pass by Raleigh so she could get there safely and return home safely. Well I talked to CathyCA about 830pm and her and Christian got to Ms. Fran's safely, had dinner and were hunkering down for the night! She has to get up around 4am to get Christian to the airport for a 6:15am flight to CA and then return back to Ms. Fran's to resume sleeping. BTW - It's 1021pm and I should be hearing from her shortly ...... hold on... .yep, like clock work... here she is.... we are sooo on the same wave length (I just :Heartthrob: that girl!) and during our good night convo, she wanted me to let all y'all know that she says hello and has been praying for everyones safe travels as well!!!)

So, I am now at home and have been since about 930pm and don't plan on going anywhere because I surely don't want any additional incidents to occur (automobile wise) due to inclement weather! It is nice and cozy and I and Cathy both hope and pray that all of y'all are also home (or in NY) safe and are warm!!!!

LGD tomorrow!!!!!

Sam Champion (WCBS) just said it would start snowing in the City about noon tomorrow. And stop about 3 pm Sunday. 6 to 10 inches in Manhattan, 10 to 12 in eastern Long Island. Sheesh.

As fast as this storm is moving.... I would be surprised if it takes that long..... I predict you might wake up to flurries..... (Ooops, let me clarify).....I am thinking around 800-900am rather than Noon when you might wake up!!!! :)) :)) :)) :)) :)) :)) =)) =)) =)) =)) =))
