You can't have your cake and eat it too?

Oh yeah? Says WHO?

I mean, of all the sayings/metaphors in the world, this has to be the weakest. Many make a lot of sense, but this one makes no sense at all.

Seriously, how many people literally "get their cake" but cannot or do not eat it? It makes no sense.

Fact is, not only CAN you have your cake and eat it too, but the majority of people that do get their cake DO eat it, and eat quite a bit of it.

Anyway, just a thought.

Well, my love handles may be growing a bit, but I will have to say,.... I get left over cake and put in the fridge and then I have to throw out after two weeks, because it grows this little hair... because I'm not a big dessert eater, but when I crave sweets, look out!!!! ;)

Once it's eaten, they no longer have it.

But still, it's a dumb saying.

It took me until I was an adult to figure out what it meant anyway. Of course, it also took me until I was an adult to figure out that when the kid saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus, that Santa was actually Daddy.

But I wasn't surprised by the ending of The Sixth Sense the first time I saw it. So, go figure.
