I screwed up EJ and merged the wrong posts with the poll. My bad, put another up and I'll try again. Or I'll ask Santa to do it.

I was eight. Santa got us a Nintendo (the bad ass one with R.O.B the Robot and the Grey Zapper) and our Mom and Dad's friends got us Super Mario Bros. DOH

Stop? You must be kidding. If you stop believing, Santa stops bringing presents.

I was three or four.
My older brother woke me up, and had me follow him to the staircase, where we peered down on my parents putting together our "santa gifts" next to the XMas tree. I still give him grief that he ruined (that part of) Christmas for me.

3 or 4 here too...
...then again, I asked about latkes recipes.
Did anyone here believe anything from any of those Rankin-Bass holiday shows? Frosty? Nestor? Rudolph? Little Drummer? The Abominable Snowman?
Why didn't Rankin-Bass ever do a Channukah show? You know, something like "Hannukah Harry meets Frosty."
Umm... we need clarification from the Head Elf.

Sorry, put me in the still believes category. Maybe my kids' sweet, unrelenting belief has tainted me. Besides, whenever we give toys to the poor, we act as Santa ourselves. When I was a kid and I realized that Santa wasn't coming to my home anymore, I kind of assumed he only went to the really poor kids whose parents couldn't afford to buy them all kinds of cool things for Christmas.
Santa, the saint, died hundreds of years ago, leaving a sweet legacy for children everywhere. Santa, as an idea of charity at Christmas, will never die as long as there are kids who believe in and love him, and we are caring and giving during the holidays.

I don't remember our age, (I think 6 or 7), but my sister was the one who destroyed my fantasy when she noted that mom & dad used the same wrapping paper as Santa.

I don't remember being heartbroken when I found out Santa wasn't real. Santa was never the focal point of Christmas for us and I noticed that even though he wasn't real, I still got presents and everyone was still happy and together. Christmas was just awesome without him.
You can "bah humbug" me if you want, but if I had kids I'd probably be one of those parents that didn't support the Santa Claus/Easter Bunny myths.
