To commemorate the 2004 national semi-final game, it is widely rumored that Zoubek, Thomas and Plumlee will all start the game with 2 personal fouls each.
Yes, I'm still pissed about the atrocious officiating in that game.

In addition, I hear that Daniel Ewing will be assessed a technical just for ... being Daniel Ewing.

Just wanted to say AWESOME post....as was/is Lavabe's.
I'm still suffering Post Traumatic Stress Disorder from that game. To be fair, Okafur (sp) got the shaft in the 1st half. But two wrongs (i.e., make up calls) don't make a right. The refs simply did not let Duke and UConn play each other that night. They had wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too much control over that game.
Sons of bitches.

What about the Finals way back when? That was pretty awful too. Like when they tripped Langdon and the refs called him for traveling? I still remember my wife and I were going to marriage registration at our church the day after that, and the nun we were meeting with opened with "Are you a basketball fan? The calls in that game last night were TERRIBLE. I couldn't believe how badly they treated those poor young men from Duke. I think the game would have been VERY different with other officials." She had NO connection to Duke and had NO idea that I went to Duke. We were meeting her for the first time, and I wasn't wearing anything Duke related.

On Sportscenter, they asked, "Who shoots 30% and wins?" And I answered back, "A team who's defense smothers you like a serial killer with a pillow."
100 bucks says that given our past and that game last night, if we aren't both the same seed, Duke and UConn will be in the same bracket come March.

The committee likes to do that with Indiana, ken-sucky, ucons and other teams with "grudges" against us.

Yea, that was pretty bad, too. But the 2004 game was multiple calls that were simply horrendous.

Dude, you need to go back and look at that tape. That game was plagued by bad officiating from beginning to end. That was just ONE of the worst ones and the most memorable because it came at the end of the game.

Never mess with the nuns. They know everything!
