Where are we?
I know there's a large concentration of CTN posters in the Triangle area, but how many of us are elsewhere? I'm in central NJ, anybody else near me?
Would folks be interested in doing a collaborative Google Map where everyody can mark their location? We did that on another board I belong to, and it was fun seeing where everybody is.

I think that is a neat idea! I am in Dumfries, VA. Bjornolf is not to far from me either.

I'm on the outskirts of Morehead City, DukePA is 20 minutes down the road in Emerald Isle. If we connected all of our map dots, would it make a picture?

Re: Where are we?
Washington, NC, here. 90 minutes from CB&B and DukePA and 20 minutes from CathyCA.
Actually, if anyone is interested in doing the work of creating the map, many of us have already listed our locations here.

I'm in Overland Park, KS. It is part of the metropolitan Kansas City area - you decide if it is the Kansas City, KS or Kansas City, MO metropolitan area. ;)

Re: Where are we?
I would volunteer but with my pc skills, nobody could read the map & everyone would be lost forever. I do love the idea.

Alas..............I'm in the dump on the hump.......only about three blocks from Ol' Roy's house as a matter of fact. We fly our Duke flag proudly so can't miss it when he walks the neighborhood.

Re: Where are we?
OK, try this link; you should be able to click "Edit", then navigate to your location (drag to center and use the scroll wheel or zoom controls on the left of the map) and add a placemark (the upside-down raindrop looking thing at upper left of the map, click on that and then where you want it) and you can add your name and whatever other text you want. I think you have to have a (free) Google account, but I or someone else can add placemarks for any folks who can't do one themselves.

Woah! Apparently they updated Google Maps. My house is now fully built. You can even see my Hobie Cat in the driveway!

Re: Where are we?
I just looked, my map is at least 4 years old. It's not even the same trailer we are in. (The trailer that was here before us was smushed by a tree...the tree that still stands on the map.)Rolvix wrote:Woah! Apparently they updated Google Maps. My house is now fully built. I'm in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada - probably the furthest away of all of us.

Re: Where are we?
How funny is it that we all have trees in front of our houses?

Living so close to Ol' Roy's, does this make the air around the dump smell bad?Ima Facultiwyfe wrote:Alas..............I'm in the dump on the hump.......only about three blocks from Ol' Roy's house as a matter of fact. We fly our Duke flag proudly so can't miss it when he walks the neighborhood.

Re: Where are we?
You live right down the street from my Sunday School teachers' old house. They lived at 3612 Randolph Road. I used to go there all the time to play with their daughter, and I spent the night before my Duke freshman move-in day at their home. Great memories!DukeUsul wrote:Derm. Put my spot on the map.
