Got this email from Jeff Au today. If any of our flute players haven't signed up yet, there is still time!
Remember, you get into the games for free. You can even bring someone with you for free, including the men's bball games.
Jeff's email address is jau@duaa.duke.edu

Dear Past Participant in Duke Pep Band,
I'm writing to give you information about opportunities to perform for Duke athletic events over winter break for which we will be assembling bands.
The first event is the Duke/Wake Forest football game which will take place on November 28th. As we will be missing many students due to Thanksgiving Break, we will be supplementing our band with those of you who want to play. We will play in the stands only (we won't try to anything crazy like march). The time for the game will not be announced until November 16th. When it is announced, I will send another message.
We also have openings for the following basketball games:
Tuesday, Dec. 15 Men's Basketball vs. Gardner-Webb 7:00 PM
Friday, Dec. 18 Women's Basketball vs. James Madison 7:00 PM
Monday, Dec. 28 Women's Basketball vs. N.C. Central 7:00 PM
Tuesday, Dec. 29 Men's Basketball vs. Long Beach State 7:00 PM
Thursday, Dec. 31 Men's Basketball vs. Pennsylvania 6:00 PM
Sunday, Jan. 3 Women's Basketball vs. Providence 1:00 PM
Sunday, Jan. 3 Men's Basketball vs. Clemson 7:45 PM
Sunday, Jan. 10 Women's Basketball vs. Wake Forest 1:00 PM
In order to have viable bands for all games, I ask that you sign up for one women's game for every men's game you sign up for. As always, we will provide lunch/dinner for band members before women's games.
If you have already contacted Nick Superina to play in any of these games, there is no need to sign up with me. If you have not yet registered, please contact me from this point forward.
Information to send when you register:
- Name
- Instrument
- Date of games for which you would like to register
- Will you need a loaner instrument? (please provide your own mouthpiece/ligature/reed - if you can't provide these, please let me know and I'll see what I can do)
- If you are bringing more than one person, who's name should be on the parking list (parking will be in the grounds lot, right off of Science Dr./Frank Bassett Dr.)
- If playing for a women's game, will you be joining us for dinner before the game?
Music will be distributed at the game.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Lastly, the distribution list I used to send this is very comprehensive so please let me know if you would like to revise/adjust your e-mail address or if you would like me to remove your address from the list. I tried to revise it based on last year's correspondence but I'm sure that I missed some changes. I'm happy to say that I now have a better system (i.e. I have A system) in place that should help me stay current.
I hope to see you soon. Have a great day.
Jeff Au
