Harumph. The pointy-headed boss was supposed to be in Richmond today. Instead he's in his office, calling for mind-numbing meetings and generally destroying morale.

OTOH, I was diverted in court this morning by a discussion with a juvenile PO as to whether defendant's mama or aunt had hair color that most closely matched my (mauve) blazer.

The reds were the color spectrum du jour. This afternoon's first star looked like the girl on the Wendy's sign, except her roots were about the same color as mine were before I got old.

Good morning (except to the 2nd Base umpire in last night's Braves game).

Good morning!

I do not understand why the Boy Scouts leave for their camping trips at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, instead of 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

It takes a lot longer to set up camp than it takes to tear it down. With the limited hours of daylight left beyond 4:00...well, you want to be sure you have it right, especially at this time of the year, when you should also be loaded up with firewood before dark.

I didn't know that. My idea of camping is a hotel sans room service. Or a Brunchgate.

Back in my Boy Scout days, we used to send a small group earlier to take care of many of the things that Capt Mojo suggests. It was always considered an honor to be in the advance party, even though it meant more work. Basically, the kids that got there a couple hours later needed to pitch their tents and then line up for dinner.

I did the same. Fell asleep about 10 and got up about 7:50. First time I've felt rested since my surgery. :D :happy-bouncyblue: :9f:
