I knew it was too good to be true!

We've had a rain-free vacation until today. Now we're having a thunderstorm. (I hope when that lightning hit the beach house that it didn't fry my laptop. I'm still posting from it, so I think I'm okay.)

I wish it would rain tomorrow. It's always okay when it rains on the day that we leave the beach, but NOT on the last full day at the beach.

I'm hoping for a little sunshine later this afternoon.

Welcome to Monsoon Season in Walkertown. Merlin the Intrepid :O3 is in hiding.

Windsor, or anyone else: do y'all know anything about Thundershirts? I hate the idea of giving Mer medication when it storms, but he is terrified and I would like to do something to make him a little less concerned.

I've read about them... mild compression to create a sense of well being including when there are load noises. Here's a link to what a vet has to say about it.

I don't know anything about Thundershirts other than the ads. I have read several times, to rub a fabric softner on pets because they can be feeling electricity from lightning. I'm with you LG, I would do anything possible to help. :O3

Sorry I didn't answer sooner. We didn't get that much rain. We got a little over 1/2 inch. Speaking of spaghetti sauce, I made a full pot (16 quarts) today. It's cooking very slow. I will can it tomorrow. My family loves spaghetti. I might have to adopt you so you can enjoy some soon. :ymhug: I have already adopted CB&B. :ymhug:

This evening, I cooked fresh green beans from the garden with red potatoes, beef ribs on the grill, tomatoes from the garden and crusty bread. It was so beautiful outside, we ate on the deck. Life is good.

Crystal clear here on the Crystal Coast tonight. Today was awesome...breezy, mid 80's, low humidity. I even mowed my lawn without sweating buckets. And to top it all off...the first bald eagle I've ever seen here flew overhead..chased by a sparrow..lol. Now I'm off to walk Xiola and enjoy evening lit up by the full moon. Perfect weather day.

We had the same moon in Raleighwood 8-| ! Stunning. Can't wait to see it over the ocean the next 2 nights. Barely reached 90 in Raleigh today after a couple 100 degree days. 90s for my walks at night and 82 for my 5 AM walks on Tuesday and Wednesday :Boo: .

Here's what we have to look forward to in the Triangle this weekend:

Partly to mostly sunny and steamy! The heat index could exceed 110 degrees.

And that forecast is with a underwhelming 20% chance of rain in an area that is already 6.5+ inches deficient for the year already.

I'm ready for FB season. More specifically, mid-to late FB season.

Note to Bob Green and DA: Send some of that cloudy, 65 degree rainy stuff back east. Or I will hunt you both down and...
