I too had a similar situation recently with a youngster that was about $20 bucks short of buying a Nintendo DS which he really wanted and although I could have spotted him the $20, we discussed it briefly and he decided to earn the money and buy the game when he had enough money! I was so proud of him and so was his mom! His Mom did a great job instilling values and I think kids are soo amazing as they remind us of things all the time, unintentionally!CameronBornAndBred wrote:My stepson bought himself a PS3 over the weekend, and two games, so I'm watching him play in the living room now. He was nervous I'd be upset when I found out he bought it, I told him I thought it was awesome. He bought it with his own money that he's been making at his job, which he has now had for just over 2 months (he works at Texas Steak House). I think it's great that he has been able to reward himself, plus keep a bunch of money in the bank. (He's getting his license soon, my requirement is that he pays for his insurance). Anyways, just giving him a shout out. (The PS3 is pretty cool!)

Somehow I have to get certified to dive this fall -- before Christmas break. I have no idea how I'll do that because I know for a fact I can't do one of the regular classes. Maybe I can get a private class during the weekends... Or at least the weekends I can do it during.

Why the time deadline? My guess is that DevilAlumna is the most experienced diver here, perhaps she might have some ideas?

I'm pretty sure I've been in hurricanes with less rain. Be safe driving home tonight DD.CameronBornAndBred wrote:The weather still SUCKS...it has not stopped raining since late last night.

Drove to Kenansville today. Its been raining off & on. I have enjoyed it as we haven't seen rain in Efland for a while. Harley (need a lab smiley) & I are chilling. Played some ball, that's about all. Nice day.

Time to go check on the neighbor's cats. Glass of wine awaits my return. Gotta have some incentive to go do litterbox duty.

I'm watching the Biography channel's show on "Different Strokes", Gary Coleman comes off as a jackass. But he admitted to being a virgin, so that might be his problem.

That's it for me for the holiday weekend. I'm exhausted after drafting with YBT for the last 2 days. Dude's a machine... ;)
