Sure, we need more comedy.
Ok I did. Not sure if I really should be feeding the trolls.

If he comes back all on his high horse, I'll ask him if he thinks Asack would have made a difference in the game. He is taller, after all.

He was nervous I'd be upset when I found out he bought it, I told him I thought it was awesome. He bought it with his own money that he's been making at his job, which he has now had for just over 2 months (he works at Texas Steak House). I think it's great that he has been able to reward himself, plus keep a bunch of money in the bank. (He's getting his license soon, my requirement is that he pays for his insurance). Anyways, just giving him a shout out. (The PS3 is pretty cool!)
Don't you love it when the kids earn their own money for their toys? Congratulations to your stepson for all of his hard work!

Do you/he realize what his insurance is gonna cost for the first 3 years he is driving? :(( :((
Teenage drivers present a dilemma for insurance companies. They are a money losing proposition. However, its difficult to tell a policyholder of many years that you won't insure them any more, so you set the rate at what you think the market will bear and hope for the best.
Did you know that if a kid has a California license, he's gotta have California insurance? \:D/

Did you get an autograph?

You call? Sorry I missed the race to 8000 this morning. I was, uh, busy!
We're working on the race to 9000 now. It is a long race at this point.
I think we could get there by the weekend.

The rain mostly held off here, apart from some occasional spittle. The place was a madhouse. Apparently every kid in Durham was there today. The stroller traffic was atrocious. Thank the good Lord Katie is so well behaved, I can't imagine if she were acting like some of the other kids. And I'm so happy we were members, there must have been 50 people in line to pay to get in. We walked right by. Some guy walked up to the membership counter "so if I join the museum today, can I skip this whole line?"
I loved going there as a kid. We had friends whose house backed up to the dinosaur trail, and they had a gate through the fence in their back yard. We'd always go in that way.

Of course, back then, it was called "The Children's Museum."

Chris - that is AWESOME! I applaud the way you encouraged him and acknowledge his hard work! I too had a similar situation recently with a youngster that was about $20 bucks short of buying a Nintendo DS which he really wanted and although I could have spotted him the $20, we discussed it briefly and he decided to earn the money and buy the game when he had enough money! I was so proud of him and so was his mom! His Mom did a great job instilling values and I think kids are soo amazing as they remind us of things all the time, unintentionally! :-bd :-bd
Thank you for not spotting that kid the $20.

I still have Wheach in the fridge. I'm saving it for company.
ILJ told me that the Lavabe family may be coming this way in a few weeks for the big balloon race, so they've got dibs if they want.

Ahhh....California. It was the first state I worked on when I got into the industry. I couldn't figure out why no one else would want to work on it. The I started dealing with the Department and Prop 103. :((

No, I didn't...I did run into his neighbor a few years later in AZ. He was an insurance agent.

Don't you just love California's propositions? Legislation by the people, for the people. . .

(I haven't actually watched a good amount of the movie(s) though, due to homework...)

And in some cases written by the people, without understanding the implications. Most of the litigation around 103 is over and done with now, but there continue to be occasional debates on the meanings of some of it.
