Whachoo put in your banana sandwich? And is it fried? I've got Elvis on the line and he wants to know./quote]

Actually, I gave Elivis this info years ago :D :D but I'm happy to share with you. Sometimes I use light mayo, other times, I put peanut butter on one side of the bread & mayo on the either. I'm sure it sounds weird to most of you but Elvis loved it.

At least I know the final resting place of all my "traders" from last year. I'm glad you got to enjoy the Bigfoot and the Duck-Rabbit brews and whatever else Lavabe has passed on to you. ;) :D

I have some Reese's Peanut Butter-Banana Cups from last year. If they are still edible, they will make it to a Brunchgate this fall.

The last one I have left is somebody's Raspberry Scotch Ale (forgot which brewery, but that can't be a particularly popular style).

Never knew such a thing existed. Sign me up.
Perhaps knights68 can help us figure out how to fry them?

That one is definitely from Lavabe as I have never had a raspberry scotch ale. O'Fallon's?

And if he can't, some of the folks at the NC State Fair should have that recipe.

Yep, that's it. He actually brought me two. Sounds pretty wacky, but the first was pretty darned good. Nice with roasted poultry.

Unfortunately, that won't preclude me from feeling tomorrow morning as if I was drunk the night before.

Oh. My. God.

Found me some honest-to-Jesus, roll-me-in-dry-rub, baste-me-in-sauce, and send-me-to-heaven BBQ today. Even better, this place is 5 miles from work, in a generic little strip mall on a four-lane highway in whitebread WASP suburban Philly part of Chester County.

Anyway, I had the "any two meat plate" and chose brisket and pulled pork, with sides of beans and mac-n-cheese, washed down with iced tea (must sweeten it yourself, but hey, we all have to make our sacrifices somewhere). Meat smoked over hickory and cherry, served in a paper boat with a thick piece of bread, and a sprinkling of dry rub seasoning over the top, but without sauce. Could see the smoke ring on the edges of both the beef and pork. Diners can sauce / mop to taste with three different tomato-based sauces: regular, hot, and vinegar. It's a BYOB, so I need to come out here with Mrs. Turk and hit the ribs next.

Let me repeat: Oh. My. God.

I might have to go over yonder and dig up the "Duke vs. Kentucky" thread from the depths of the back pages. (And I won't even TRY to be ironic!!)

You'll find the latest D vs. K thread on the front page, but it's only one or two pages long. It's not the big, long long thread.
Your paradigm of optimism
