The Football Fan wrote:This guy would've rated as our top guy or 2nd best recruit in most every year....this year we've got several really good players. We have to keep winning to secure this class, but wow!!! We've come a long way.
Don't be a stranger around here, chime in often and spur some conversation!

We need eight wins minimum to avoid defections and maintain momentum with the 2017 class. I'm greedy so I desire to see a lot more than eight, but then I reflect on the past, recall the 0-11 and 1-10 seasons, and steady up on a 7-5 regular season with a bowl victory for win number eight as acceptable. I really believe we will go 8-4 or better in the regular season.

If Sirk turns out to be better than Boone, we could be looking at another trip to the ACCCG. The ability to accurately throw the ball to receivers who have achieved slight separation will be critical.

We are going to learn a lot about this team in the games against Northwestern and Georgia Tech in September.

#BangBang #DukeGang

OLB Alexander Gagnon has verbally committed to Duke. Gagnon (6'4" 218) is from Charlotte Catholic HS so we've struck pay dirt with another in state prospect. Offers from NCSU, UNC, Wake, Vandy, Northwestern, WVU and Virginia.

When it rains it pours:

3* linebacker/tight end/athlete Jacob Morgenstern has verbally committed to Duke. We beat out Harvard and Yale for his services. Oh yeah, we also beat out Clemson, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Maryland, Vanderbilt, Pitt, Boston College and others.

Well, if surratt is decommitting and then verballing to the cheaters because they offered his younger brother a walk-on slot on the MBB team then fedora + williams= large, steaming pile of :animals-cow: :poo:

But, we already knew that.

I haven't seen anywhere in print about his brother playing bball, but I have seen where Chazz himself plans on playing both sports for the holes.
That would not have been an option at Duke. (Although playing a bowl game would have been. If he wasn't smart enough to see that much, he may not have done very well in Durham.)

Sporks!!!

This news is very disappointing on one hand, but on the other hand, we really do not need a QB with questionable decision making skills.

Very diplomatically phrased. Asack was enough (if you know to what I'm referring).

Chazz Surratt committed to Duke in April for the QB position.

But was told by Unc that Football would not be touched by ncaa sanctions. Ole Roy promised the kid a walk on position for the basketball team also. Surratt called the Duke Football office and told them he decommitted.

Phillip Patterson, a 3* wide receiver from Virginia Beach, will announce tomorrow morning at 9 am at Bayside High School. He has a final seven that includes Duke. I'm predicting Virginia Tech. Hampton Roads remains solid VT country.

Twitterverse rumors are heating up that 4* DB Dylan Singleton (Deondre's brother) could be headed to Duke. It appears a DB de-committed from Alabama because he is interested in Georgia. This will push Singleton to Durham.

Let the dominoes fall...

MLB Jonathan Smith will announce tomorrow around 7 pm. Smith is a 3* but his offer list is impressive with schools such as Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Louisville, Virginia Tech, Virginia, NC State, Carolina and of course Duke.

This one appears to be down to Duke or Carolina.

EDIT: Smith is from Laurinburg, NC (Scotland County HS).
