Meeting with the reception/catering folks today.
(note: I could have made this 3 posts. Or 4.

)
Why didn't you?

Yeah, we won't send you to Siberia if you do, although you probably would like to go "on Holiday" by next Sunday! Just don't go the same place the kids are going on their honeymoon. That wouldn't be good form.

THEY would ban you!

Have an appt Tuesday with Dana, the beer-meister at Liquor Barn. They had NO O'Fallon brews on Saturday. I simply MUST bring O'Fallon brews for devildeac (which means devildeac & CB&B).
FWIW, Schlafly selection is GORGEOUS right now.

That's crazy! If DD is approaching those amounts for flowers and cake, I wonder how much he is spending on beer?
Life is good!

We are spending FAR, FAR less than that on flowers and the cake, but that stuff still is not cheap. I'll comment later about the beer.

The $15k cake was the best cake I have ever eaten at any wedding!! The cake itself looked like a work of art! IT was.
However, if my Father was still living, I would love one of his home baked Lemon Pound Cakes with cream cheese icing. Its the best, when its still warm, and smells so heavenly. He Loved Duke Basketball/Football, playing Golf, and baking cakes for the elderly/sick or homebound.
How about a "BLUSHING BRIDE" speciality cocktail for the wedding, but after the wedding. Those Baptist churchs frown on Alcohol spirits! I know, I was raised in a southern Baptist church.
BLUSHING BRIDE cocktail: Vodka (good vodka), Chambord, lemonade and fresh strawberries. Puree in the Blender, and serve in a champagne glass, that has a Cosmo rimmer, and serve with a lime wheel. I want mine in a Martini glass. \~/

DD, your life is just beginning! This weekend you simply turn the page and start waiting to hold that first grandbaby. That's when it REALLY gets good!
Savor this part, though. Good luck to all of you. I know it will be beautiful. It's all so right!
Love, Ima

Here's to a beautiful day for your entire family, which gets a little larger today. Laugh, cry, whatever feels right, DD. Hugs to you and Joy; you've done very well to get Claire to this day. Your job today is Proud Papa.

Absence of stress? Bwahahahaha!
I look forward to the festivities later today, and I am formulating an appropriate toast for tonight's reception
