Re: Is Kyle leaving?
Guess I went to bed a little early last night. It's like waking up Christmas morning to find a BIG present under the tree! Yay! I was sitting in the den half asleep watching Caps highlights from last night on ESPN, and this innocuous little blurb goes across the bottom saying: NCAAM: Duke F Kyle Singler elects to stay in school for his senior season
I RAN for my computer to make sure that ESPN wasn't jerking me around. Boy THAT woke me up. What amazing news. We are gonna be SCARY good next year. K's gonna have one of those years when he has to decide how to get enough minutes for all the talent he's got. What a nice problem to have.

Re: Is Kyle leaving?
Where does Kyle rank in the stats of Duke all-time? I saw that he's 18th in points and if he gets the same number of points next year, he'll pass Laettner for 3rd. But how many points do the others have? How about rebounds and other stats? I did some google searching, but I must not be entering the right search terms, cause I ain't finding it.

The best place to get all of that is in the media guide, available on GoDuke.com.bjornolf wrote:Where does Kyle rank in the stats of Duke all-time? Aunt Sheree sent me a text last night. Kelly and I both raised a glass in Kyle's honor.

No... he's staying... 67/33.

I was curious to know if there have been any mass suicide pacts in Kaintuck?
Or could it be that Calipari will, of course, replace them with more of the same, as would ol' roy?
Yes...I think the EarlJam alphabetical list of Duke players weighed heavily in his decision-making process. I have never been so glad to be right about something in sports.
I believe an update to the list is in order, Earl of the Jammeth!!

I'm thinking that one of the biggest assets to the program with his return will be his influence on the young guys coming in. Much as been made, and rightfully so, about the value of senior leadership. This year's team had to find a way without having had that. Kyle and Nolan will be masters at mentoring.
Thank you Kyle. Wishing you the funnest senior year any Devil ever had. Just....don't......get ....hurt. Try to avoid press tables, bleachers, cameras, chairs, water coolers, time clocks, TV monitors and the like! They're all replaceable of course, but you aren't!!!
Bless your heart. Love, Ima

Re: Is Kyle leaving?
He made his decision based on the right reasons, not because he didn't think he was ready for the nba. Interviewed on the Dan Patrick show today (Tuesday), he stayed because he didn't want to give up his senior year and all the joy that that can bring! Perhaps he's thinking his jersey might hang in the rafters? If he stays healthy, it will - he'll be inside the top 5 scorers in Duke history, perhaps #3. He's certainly a leading early favorite for NPOY, like he was this year (a year too early).devildeac wrote:This is just marvelous news. I hope Kyle has made the right decision for himself and his family. My bet is that he has after 2 weeks of discussions with his family and the MBB coaching staff. What a great relief and what a season we have to anticipate in 2010-11. I am pinching myself and, if EJ were here, I'd pinch him, too. Heck, I'd pinch anyone if they were here right now cuz Mrs. DD will get tired of it real quickly.

Perhaps he's staying in case the streaker of '75 (can't remember what year) decides relive his run.OZZIE4DUKE wrote:He made his decision based on the right reasons, not because he didn't think he was ready for the nba. I liked K's quote in the press conference about Kyle "coming back".
I hate that term. He's not coming back, he never left. He is continuing.

I thought the whole press was great. I also especially like "continuing".CameronBornAndBred wrote:I liked K's quote in the press conference about Kyle "coming back".
