We got 0 inches of snow.

I just spent about an hour shoveling/removing large sections of glacier from our driveway. There must be about 1/2" of ice under all that so-called pretty white stuff on the surface. The bad thing is, it's really hard work. The good thing is, each shovel full of stuff weighs about 10 pounds and contains an area or volume of snow roughly equal to something about 1/4 the size of Rhode Island.

This is why I was surprised none of my neighbors were out clearing stuff tomorrow while it was still coming down. DD you should know better! We Jerseyans know how to handle it!

Christian gets a snow day tomorrow--his first ever! He's thrilled.

Now I'm hoping that they'll call off court in Pitt County, too!

You can have whatever is in our driveway. And we haven't shoveled any of it off because we aren't there to do it, so you can have it all!

Sorry, yeah, I just went all Desmond there and was back a couple days ago thinking the snow would be coming tomorrow.....

Now, it wasn't all that bad. A lotta work and a lotta exercise-somewhere around 2.5 hours of shoveling and I got about 2/3 of the driveway cleared. That is enough to get both our cars in the driveway for the night, though, 1 won't leave the garage. I decided against trying to clear the stuff that spent most of the day in the shade and will let tomorrow's temps in the high 30s and hopefully a bit o' sunshine help me. If I get home early enough, I'll shovel some more. I may not be able to bend at the waist or lift my arms above shoulder level though .

I had the joy of working Saturday and Sunday, plus digging out from about 14 inches of Saturday snow, which I hope to do tomorrow (now today, Monday) on my day off. I do have 4 tix to the GT game Thursday, so I'll be there. Later this morning I'll be digging my wife's and daughter's cars out so I'll not have to transport them any more. It took me an hour to get home tonight which would normally be 30 minutes, so our roads aren't too bad. Last night I drove home in a driving snowstorm and it was a complete mess. Thank goodness for my Nissan Xterra which is a badass!!

Oz and company, I'll try to catch up with y'all Thursday. I just finished the Smithfield BBQ a couple of nights ago for a midnight dinner. My seats for this game are in section 8, I'll be in touch. CT

I love that picture of how attentive lil Ruth is to her dad and the look on Jennifer's face towards her man is priceless! I love it!!!! I'm glad you and Mrs. Oz had such a wonderful time... it definitely shows on the faces! Safe travels home!

We are home safely. When we pulled into the rest stop near Burlington, I noticed the right rear tire was almost flat! And I could see a nail on the inside tread right on top. We went to the next exit, about a mile down the road, found a gas station with an air pump and put some air in it. Hisssssssssssssssssss. The gas station on the other side of the interstate was an actual service station, and they plugged the flat for $10 and we were on our way. Got 4 new tires (at WalMart - I had talked to them about tires 2 weeks ago) this evening after returning home. Was hoping to put it off for a few more months, but what the heck, it's only money...
