Q: What's the difference between Santa Claus and Tiger Woods?

Most people say that is it is the intellect which makes a great scientist. They are wrong: it is character.

Re: Tiger
I am soo sick about hearing about this cheating bastard!!!!! I thought he was an alright golfer ( due to his history of practice and honoring and dedication to his father, .... but after all this crap, ... total loss of respect and then I heard today (paraphrase) that apparently he has been fighting this aspect of his life because his Dad was apparently the same way, OMG.... talking about passing the buck.... Take some fricken responsibility for yourself and finally be all that you can be.....CameronBornAndBred wrote:Elin gives up, too.Ima Facultiwyfe wrote:I give up.

On an alternative note... 1 of the late comedians said recently something like, man, just think if he didn't have all the distractions of the women in the crowd watching him to distract him into thinking "God please don't let her say anything about the other night" which really could screw UP his game, so without that guilt... imagine what he could have been ... (had he been an honorable and trustworthy individual)!!!!!

AT&T just dropped him.
Two econ professors at Cal-Davis have estimated that Tiger has cost shareholders in the companies he endorses anywhere from $5B to $12B. Astonishing numbers:

Is it Tiger or is it the Verizon ad campaign that is costing AT&T?

I got to admit that the "Island of Misfit Toys" ad was pretty funny. The MAP campaign is pretty effective.

It sure beats Luke Wilson throwing postcards around.
Or worse, Luke Wilson headless, on presently during the Sugar Bowl.
How does AT&T think this is effective pushback?

Re: Tiger
Here's an odd thought about AT&T. Instead of suing Verizon for its ads about the AT&T network, and paying Tiger:
FIX YOUR NETWORK!!
Ya know, if you enhanced your network instead of kvetching about ads that discuss it, MAYBE you'd turn a profit.
THEN you could run your Luke Wilson ads. Or perhaps hire the UPS longhaired dude. Or Flo. Or maybe an animatronic gecko. Or maybe even Tiger.
Just sayin'.

Re: Tiger
The day after AT&T finished last on WRAL's report on cellular customer satisfaction, they announced they were turning on eight (8) new towers in the RDU area for improved 3G service. Don't know if it made any difference since I have neither AT&T nor a 3G phone.Lavabe wrote:Here's an odd thought about AT&T.
