I only promise to change signatures. The avatar will change when I've charged my digital camera, found the cable that connects it to my computer and/or finished a new scarf. I can only do so much!

But if you need a game to play, tell us the source.

That's awesome. I'll be excited to see them.
They were really cool. They'd come up and take the hose under the water and drink, there was also a spigot that was open and they'd go up to it, like they were getting a shower. They were really tame and didn't mind if you petted them.

I can't wait to see the pictures. I so want to go kayaking in Florida with the manatees. (Note to self - find that company again.)

Which reminds me of a song from local folkie John Flynn... When he sings "It's not", he draws out the "s" sound and slides it into the next word. Get it? Get it? =)) =))

A Manatee Sneezed On Me
By John and Cole Flynn

When we were on vacation
Down in Florida last spring
My brother said go get your bathing suit
A family of manatees
Is swimming by the dock
They’re gentle and little ones are cute
My mom said it was okay
So my dad said okay too
I paddled over to them on my raft
Suddenly my head was wet with something like shampoo
I yelled out as everybody laughed

A manatee sneezed on me… a manatee sneezed on me
You might think that it’s funny
It’s not

The manatees had come to drink
Fresh water from the hose
My brother Sean was holding in his hand
A little water must have gotten up the mamma’s nose
I’d like to laugh about it but I can’t
A manatee sneezed on me…a manatee sneezed on me
Its nasal capacity’s a lot
A manatee sneezed on me…a manatee sneezed on me
You might think it’s funny
It’s not

It could’ve been worse the sneeze was clear
Yes there are worse sneezes I hear
There was a huff and then a snuff
And then she sprayed me with her stuff
There was no clue, no big ha-choo
She simply snorted and it flew
She felt so bad for what she’d done
She tried to clean me with her tongue

A manatee sneezed on me…a manatee sneezed on me
Its nasal capacity I got
A manatee sneezed on me…a manatee sneezed on me
You might think it’s funny
It’s not

I did not know just what to do
And so I hollered “God bless you!”

Went to the dentist today. I haven't been in about three years. I used to go very regularly, but when we moved I had to find a new dentist and what with the baby and all, it's been a low priority. I was worried about the news, but it wasn't as bad as I thought. I do need to floss more.

Anyone on here actually a regular flosser?

No, I'm not, but my dentist told me years ago that swishing once a day for 30 seconds with Listerine (any of the more pleasant flavors will do) or more recently Crest Pro Health mouthwash, is almost as effective at getting rid of gum disease as is flossing. It seems to work for me - when they stick the sharp pointy thing in my gums and the hygienist goes 1,1,2,3,2,3, etc. around the mouth (top and bottom, inside and outside between the teeth and gums), I get far few 4's than I used to, which means the gums are healthier! 1's are best, 5's are worst on their scale. I think it has to do with how deep the pointy thing goes under the gum/tooth line.

Yeah, I had a number of 4s and a 5. :o :o :o :o So I need to get back to flossing. She also said to use the Listerine Whitening pre-brush rinse... not b/c of the whitening, but b/c the hydrogen peroxide is good at killing the bacteria.

To clarify for all who may be reading this, bunchofnumbers is referring to Ozzie, not me, regarding the necked thing.

I floss daily.

I used to do an intro phys anthro lab that involved flossing.

PLEASE don't tell me you guilt-flossed just a day or so before you went to the dentist. :((

So that is what you Dr's call it these days! I am still wondering something.... how does flossing, which occurs between each tooth (as this simple man understands it), helps resolve the plaque build up between the top of the tooth and the gum. Ya know when the hygienist is jamming that point-EEE pronged steel tipped stick (with apparently a depth measurement as I understand it) into each and every tooth at the upper/lower part where the gum comes down over the tooth that hurts like "doo dah" and says as you dance around "OH, I'm sorry DID THAT HURT?". Besides many other things that come to mind, I have to say, YA THINK, I actually flinch like this ALL THE TIME!!!! :D

Daily.
I am. My wife is, and I do my kids' teeth every day. We were soft on Sean because he hated brushing so much, and he ended up having a tooth extracted and a baby root canal and a BUNCH of fillings. Now he's religious about it, so maybe it's worth it since no permanent teeth were hurt. The dentist told me that flossing might be even more important than brushing, because the fluoridated water we drink and the mouthwash we use does NOT get between the teeth effectively. MOST kids cavities are between teeth at the contact point, as proof of this. They even make fluoride dental floss now. We use it on the kids.
